Quote:Ten days ago, I tried to get cash from my PayPal account from an ATM machine before I went on vacation. The transaction was declined. I thought PayPal was having a minor glitch...

...I called PayPal. They told me that a number of their MasterCards were 'compromised', including mine and so, on the advise of MasterCard, were immediately terminated. I can apply for a new one and expect it within 7 - 10 business days - a huge inconvenience. I asked why they didn't notify me. The rep replied they couldn't possibly notify the 10,000 - 20,000 cardholders affected. This is ludicrous! My banking sister informed me non-notification is in direct violation of banking regulations which took effect this summer...

Compromised--my dictionary defines the word as: security leak, unauthorized access to system, they done got hacked,  another PayPal fuckup.  Smile

on another PayPal fuckup note: more reports that the now 2 1/2 month long problem with PayPal debit card charges reversing continues:

Mindless public relations robot PayPal Amanda and her legion of nasty personal information posting auction interference practicing posting ID cheerleader trolls seem to be avoiding this one...wonder why?

If there was a breach and the customers' cards were compromised it is ludicrous that all affected customers were not notified.

It seems to be eBay and PayPal company police not to notify all of their customers when there is a serious problem that could cost eBay/PayPal...eBay never sent out a mass email or posted an announcement on its announcements board about the billing problems last year--the only "official" mention was a few pink posts on the eBay message boards which only a tiny portion of eBay sellers ever visit.
