I just went through a hellacious ordeal.  I have supposedly had a dedicated server for the last 6 days - but it's only been up on rare occassion.  Today it's been down the whole day - and my support rep won't respond to me at all.  This is for a managed dedicated server  Angryfire

Recommendations anyone?

#2. ServInt.net--FAS is hosted on a Virtual Private Server there.  We had 2 dedicated servers there for almost 5 years (we used the servers mainly for backups the last 4 years we were there...the first year it was our only host).  Very good customer service...but during the first 2 years there one of our servers needed to have parts replaced frequently (by the end of 2 years EVERYTHING from motherboards to memory to power supply had been replaced)--that server was getting 10+ million page views monthly (and the site was heavily CGI/perl based which could have contributed to the problems Wink.  They handle mainly corporate/business accounts. Dedicated servers are here: https://www.servint.net/specials and here: https://www.servintservers.com/

#1.  Cari.net-  My favorite. Their main business is hosting web hosting companies.  Great customer service 24/7.  Very low rates (especially if you signup for their $50 monthly ISP/reseller program).  http://www.cari.net/

Thank you!  I'm off to go and check them out.

I knew you were the person to ask.

I'm going with carinet.  I was going the dedicated route so that I could setup and host sites for my publishing clients, and to make sure that I had plenty of server resources where their sites wouldn't bog down . . . each author/developer with their own little ecommerce site as part of their package.  The reseller with one MySQL for each account is perfect.  Now to get 5,000 clients and outgrow the package  Drunken_smilie

I can't find a $50 a month ISP/reseller program at cari.net.  Am I just missing it or is it no longer available?

http://www.cari.net/reseller-hosting/index.php  There is a 10-day free trial.  The $50 monthly is w/o MySQL.  It's $100 monthly with MySQL.

I've only used their dedicated servers, but Jen has tried their reseller plan.
Thanks.
I'm going to check out
https://www.servint.net/vps/ as well.
Is the bear still giving a thumbs up to servint.net?

We're looking at moving to a VPS after the holidays.

You forgot to mention the server that caught fire.

Their customer service for dedicated servers was good.
