If anyone is curious, here is a sample of a ProStore site:  www.gotclipart.com
...and here's an example of an empty StoreSense Pro Plus store (the equivalent of eBay's $249 monthly ProStores offering).

For anyone who's really interested, the Storesense user manuals...which are almost identical to the ProStores manuals...except for the name change.

p.s. the manuals are large--downloading is not recommended if you're on dialup  Smileytongueout
Can you still get a storesense store or can you only get an eBay version?
You can still get them.  No idea if that will change.  The Kurant reseller support page now redirects to the ProStores home page.  Cari.net charges $7, $25, and $50 for the versions that eBay is charging $29, $74, $249...but you have to be a reseller to get those rates .  Jen could sell you one (that is if she went ahead and signed up with Cari)  ;D

Neoverve, Homestead, Skipjack,  and others are still selling them too,

I'm a reseller for their hosting with database packages . . . not the storesense packages, sorry.  That way my authors/developers could take their OS, Zen, or Cubecart to any other hosting provider if they wanted to.

So, basically I have 5,000 websites with 1 database each hosting capabilities - which was perfect for my developing project.
Quote: not the storesense package

We can resell it, but we don't want to  ;D because there's a very real risk eBay could decide to pull the plug on all resellers and force existing Storesense users to host with ProStores if they want upgrades.
Is there any way of finding out how many prostores there are?? :mixed044:

The only way (without ProStores announcing the numbers) would be to find out how many web sites the dns1.prostores.com nameservers are hosting.  There used to be a free web site that provided info like that, but it went out of business a few years ago.

According to the Alexa traffic rankings, the ProStores web site itself receives less traffic than the web sites of other large hosted shopping cart providers like MonsterCommerce, Volusion, and EasyStoreCreator but more traffic than 3DCart and Make-A-Store
Thanks BBh for the reply, I read on the stores board yesterday that another one was packing it in, so there can't be too many left except for the "big guys" Walk
