What type of web hosting do you use?
Shared server, but in the process of moving over to managed dedicated, due to a new project in the works.

Call me dumb, but what's the advantage to colocated servers?  I checked into virtual dedicated, and dedicated . . . but am not familiar with the advantages of colocated? (I'm familiar with what it is, just not sure I want to buy a server because if it breaks I'll be up the creek and if I need to upgrade I'll be up the creek, where I can always upgrade my hosting to a faster, newer server)

The main advantage of a co-located server is that its another asset your creditors can seize.  8) La

The other advantages are 1.  If you have several servers it can be cheaper in the long run than using dedicated servers and 2. you can completely configure everything about the servers before you deploy them (i.e. the exact hardware, customize the OS installation, etc).
OK, that makes sense - I didn't see the cost benefit for one server, but now I see some of the bulk price quotes.  Makes sense . . . maybe someday I'll need more than one server  Icon_thumright

Thanks for the timely question . . . my managed dedicated is being setup as we speak.

Dedicated. Smile
