Triple doh duh!

Plastering links to a dozen anti-IMA rants and a blog article bashing a potential customer  on the front page of your business site ranks right up there with sellers at small eBay alternatives who put an anti-eBay diatribe on the front page of their store.  At least the sellers who do it aren't charging people for selling advice  ("consulting").  Doing it is a sure way to make potential customers hit the back button and take their business to your competitors.

LOL, I think maybe they need a PR rep to tell them what not to do. Really dumb. violent5

~clean hands doctrine n. a rule of law that a person coming to court with a lawsuit or petition for a court order must be free from unfair conduct (have "clean hands" or not have done anything wrong) in regard to the subject matter of his/her claim.

His/her activities not involved in the legal action can be abominable because they are considered irrelevant. As an affirmative defense (positive response) a defendant might claim the plaintiff (party suing him/her) has a "lack of clean hands" or "violates the clean hands doctrine" because the plaintiff has misled the defendant or has done something wrong regarding the matter under consideration~

Are Patrick Byrne and the Sith Lord allowed to vote in the poll?

Only if Patrick's father is also allowed to vote because he'd also vote doh duh (unlike Patrick)

The difference between Byrne/Overstock doing it and IMA members doing it is Byrne is at least fighting for a cause (ending corruption on Wall St) while the IMA fight boils down to a bunch of boinktards on both sides of the fence had their egos bruised by posts on a forum.  The IMA fight belongs in Kindergarden not on any business site.

boinktards on both sides of the fence had their egos bruised by posts on a forum.

Attempts by boinktards to intimidate blog writers into silence and attempts by loser piece of wombat poo poo motherboinking boinktards to intimidate forum owners into silencing their members seem to be all the rage these days.  Yesterday BBH received a PM from one such loser piece of wombat poo poo boinktard who promised "to make things ugly" for BBH because the hypocritical boinktard (who also owns a forum and is known for chastising OAI forums and sites that censor their users) was upset over some recent posts made by two TT members on a topic that BBH wasn't even participating in. In the past TT has also received threats of lawsuits from Wagglepop users and eBay store/template "designers" who unsuccessfully tried to intimidate us into silencing our members' rights to free speech. I have 4 words for those who have tried to intimidate us into silencing our members: "USC 230" and "boink YOU!"

YAY, Tulip Tools!!  turkey1

What really amazes me is how many threats of lawsuits are floating about on the net. Most of them for defamation/libel.

I would have to say that the vast majority of these big talkers (the idiots threatening lawsuits) haven't a clue as to what constitutes defamation/libel in the legal sense, nor what is required to win such a case.
 tool
Listen up, BOINKTARDS, you can't sue someone for libel and WIN, if:

1. They are expressing an opinion. The test for an opinion is whether or not the statement can be proven true or false. Opinions CAN NOT be proven true or false.
2. They are telling the TRUTH. In a libel case, the party bringing the suit must prove that the statements are false. The party being sued, has nothing to prove. DIMWITS.

ps.......you might just as well give up trying to intimidate BBH, Mandy or Regic........not gonna happen. Trust me....I know.  stolensmiley

Damn. I am so slow sometimes.  Roll Eyes

Really, Truth, from your rabid postings in the Wagglepop thread, I would not have thought that you would wish to censor other forum posters. If I recall correctly, Ray Romeo certainly didn't appreciate your posts. Nor did many of the poppers that you attacked.

So tell me, did we say anything that wasn't true? Or, alternatively, an opinion?  icon_scratch

I have more to say, actually.......I feel the urge to create a new thread.......or a new blog post. After all, if Entrecard grew wiser after a similar debate, perhaps you will too? I really hate censorship.

EDIT: Mandy, if I have called out the wrong whiner here, do let me know, and I will make a public apology. Thanks. stolensmiley

EDIT 2: I am so fortunate in that I have come to know one hell of a lot of bloggers who also hate censorship. The blogosphere rocks.  Smiley

The "I was libeled by Steve/IMA" eBay U/eBay designer posted yesterday that she has sent 3 C&D's already (didn't this just start last week? blinkie )...and then on the other side you have IMA and their lawyers. Roll Eyes

I was amused by this comment left on the "libeled" eBay U/eBay designer's blog:

The IMA President has a history of defaming others.

The example given: a post in which IMA's president supposedly "libeled" "Posterboy" by calling him a bad seller (the Posterboy of 3100+ mutual feedback comments fame, the seller who has a petition signed by 385 of his buyers asking that he be banned from eBay, the seller with 4800 negative feedbacks and a lifetime sub-97% feedback percentage).  Naturally the eBay designer/eBay U boinktard jumped in to defend Posterboy on the IMA thread.

I can only imagine the eBay U. classes anyone who defends him would teach.

eBay U Best Practices for Sellers course outline

1. An introduction to Shipping Gouging
2. Leaving Retaliatory Negatives for Beginners
3. Using Mutual Withdrawals to Your Advantage: increase your feedback percentage by using retaliatory negatives and feedback extortion to get those pesky negatives removed
4. Strategies to Reduce Your Shipping Costs: using flimsy packaging and "the post office lost/damaged the package" excuses to your advantage

Have we come across any of those---the ebay U/eBay designer types who aren't complete and tacky skanks?

I know that the majority of those (at least that I was familiar with) calling themselves "designers" on ebay couldn't design their way (aesthetically speaking) out of a freakin' paper bag. tongue2

It's pretty easy to say that you are a designer, another thing altogether to understand what good design is.

Maybe I'll publish an ebook on "How to Find Good Taste if You Have None". Nope, that won't work....they'd actually have to understand design principles, and God knows, that simply wouldn't be easy enough for them to make a quick buck . Boinktards.  thefinger
