For a textbook example of a violation of ICANN rules on providing correct contact information, travel back to January 2007...

Auctionquests WHOIS showed the address as "Yukon Territory, Zimbabwe" from December 2006 until late August 2007

Quote
Domain:        auctionquests.com
Cache Date:    2007-01-01
Registrar:    GO DADDY SOFTWARE, INC.

Registrant:
   S.Ray & Tyna Walker-Lay
   +1.7277813007
   , Yukon Territory 1
   Zimbabwe

Another textbook example of a violation of ICANN rules (the "registrant must be a legal entity" rule) occurred in August 2007 when the registrant was changed to Auctionquests LLC - a "company" which doesn't appear on a search of state corporate records.

Quote
Domain:        auctionquests.com
Cache Date:    2007-08-31
Registrar:    GODADDY.COM, INC.

Registrant:
   AuctionQuests, LLC
   3438 East Lake Road
   Suite 14 OMB 652
   Palm Harbor, Florida 34685
   United States

Yet another textbook example, this one from July 2008, of a site which has improperly listed a non-legal entity as the registrant -also in violation of ICANN rules

Quote
Domain:        auctionquests.com
Cache Date:    2008-07-24
Registrar:    GODADDY.COM, INC.

Registrant:
   AQ
   1100 Sheldon Drive
   Newark, Delaware 19711
   United States

Incidentally, in August 2008 Auctionquests joined the ranks of rinky dinks who hide their ownership with private WHOIS.
note: a listing of other sites which hide their ownership may be found on the Channel Traffic Rankings chart -the sites listed in purple hide their ownership

The WHOIS of ANY site associated with these boinktards is a walking ICANN violation and yet they require sellers identities to be verified.

Plunderhere's WHOIS right after MoPuppet took over in 2007: violations (non-legal entity as registrant, fake phone and fax numbers)

Quote from: Alibaba boards
Most companies on these B2B websites are scam artist. They have fake addresses and phone numbers. Check to see if their phone and fax number are the same, what's up with that. If they give you a cell phone number, think about this. Do you know of any companies with 50 to 100 employee's and the only way to contact them is through the CEO's cell phone.
http://resources.alibaba.com/topic/48632/What_can_Alibaba_do_to_develop_a_more_trustworthy_business_marketplace_for_you_/6.htm

I believe the same word of caution would apply when considering doing business with any Florida "company" which lists a non-existent LLC and an ALLTEL cell phone number as the main contact number on its WHOIS records - especially when principals of the business have in the past falsely listed their business location as "Yukon Territory, Zimbabwe"  :)

Back to Plunderhere...

Only 389 of the site's 62,500 items are indexed in Google Product Search and 562 of 62,500 in Google Base.  Well, isn't that special?  Now, who could be responsible for so few of PH's listings being indexed - could it be…SATAN?  :)

Quote from: Google Product Search
Results 1 - 20 of about 389 for plunderhere

In a move sure to boost conversions :sarcasm1:, PH is now requiring buyers to become ID verified before they can use buy it now.

Quote from: PH
We have added a system in place whereby all unverified buyers will

That never happens on my shopping carts... Oh, that's right, It only happens on sites that don't have an easy instant checkout.

Buyer verification happens with many of my sales but my buyers don't know it.  ;D ...and most importantly their path through the checkout process isn't slowed down by our fraud checking.  The PayPal verification that rinky dinks like Plunderhere do is basically useless as a fraud deterrent.

Plunderhere owner Mark Taylor responds

Quote
We certainly have zero tolerance for any auctions that are not tasteful
and do not allow adult orientated listings.
We have a dedicated team of users known as the 'Plunder Patrol' who
scour the site looking for such listings as we intend to remain as a
family friendly place to buy and sell.

Hope that helps
Mark

Let me see if I understand this  :icon_scratch: Plunderhere doesn't allow lingerie auctions but it does allow:

1. The sale of Nazi articles by members of racist hate groups
2. It allows criminals to violate US federal laws and infringe on the intellectual property rights of others by selling knockoff  handbags, cell phones, watches, and more
3. It promotes itself using videos made by its admin that are in violation of the DMCA law  and which violate the copyright and IP rights of the songwriters whose songs were used in its commercial videos without their permission
4. it allows coupon auctions even though the legality of selling coupons is questionable
5. it allows the sale of used ("like new") children's underwear

summary: if you want to sell something legal (lingerie) PlunderIPRightsHere is not the place for you. If you want to sell items that violate intellectual property laws or items that promote the hatred of a race/religion/ethnic group then Mark Taylor and PromoteRacismHere will welcome you with open arms and look the other way as you break the law with your "tasteful" fake Gucci handbags and celebrate hatred with your "family friendly" Swastika adorned items.

Yeah, I would definitely have to say that lingerie is much less "family friendly" and "tasteful" than concentration camp armbands worn by victims of the holocaust. At least they are if you are trying to celebrate the formerly fascist state of Germany, the death of millions of innocent men, women, and children, and the sociopathy behind the whole thing. Good job, Mark. :boinktard: :signs047:

I always did think that taking my child to movies containing the gratuitous violence that so many fundie types seem to enjoy was so much better than allowing him to view the nude human body.  :sarcasm1:

And I thought the non protected "bbclone" script on all of Ray's sites (bidhopper, AQ, aSs) was bad.

IP Addresses are considered Personally Identifiable Information, Mark. A hacker with half a brain and a basic understanding of local IP addresses can take his pick of thousands you openly expose, and remotely access and attack any computer that doesn't have the protection from his attack. Way to secure the site, moron. I guess your "tech guys" and moderators really are smarty pants now for letting you do this.

Thanks to Marktard exposing IP addresses, I was able to verify that the Nisan C. who registered Alsoshop.org on September 7th 2008 (and like a fool forgot to make the WHOIS private until the next day) lives in the same town as Plunderhere's Nisan...

FYI, according to WHOIS history for Alsoshop.org and Bidwhale.com, the Nisan C. who registered Alsoshop.org is the same clown who used to own former boinktard of the week award winner auction site Bidwhale back in 2005.

EDIT:

For the past 2 months, any hacker with half a brain could also have used the exploit code published here and on numerous security advisory sites to gain direct database access to all personal information of any user of any phpProBid site, including Plunderhere and Alsoshop, due to the still unpatched security hole which exists in phpProBid.

Here's an interesting 3rd quarter sales comparison of 2 auction sites  :)

Bidz: $55,400,000
AlsoShop: $2,400

FYI-  a one-person US household earning poverty level wages grossed  $2,697 in Q3 - an eBay Bronze powerseller grossed $3,000 - the average AlsoShop storeowner grossed $40 in Q3.  :)

Auction Site Plunderhere Violates eBay Power Seller Trademark
« Reply #659 on: December 11, 2008, 02:36:33 AM »

Plunderhere has branched out from copyright infringing videos to violating eBay's registered federal trademark "Power Sellers" (yes Marktard, eBay has a trademark on the use of the phrase "Power Sellers" when it is used in connection with auction services like you are using it)

achieve this.

eBay's lawyers will no doubt also be screaming copyright infringement after seeing Plunderhere's new Power Seller logo which is a blue man inside a yellow star with the words "power" written in red and "seller" written in blue (sound familiar?)
