Deluded eBay University Instructor Tells Sellers to STFU and Drink the Kool-Aid
Today's lesson from eBay University to sellers:
Do NOT say anything negative about Meg Whitman. Do NOT say anything negative about Bill Cobb. Do NOT say anything negative about eBay. Do NOT say anything negative about fee hikes. Do NOT issue press releases criticizing fee hikes. Today's message from eBay University to eBay: The eBay Help boards should not be an open forum for discussion... http://forums.ebay.com/db1/thread.jspa?m...1006624917 Quote:When I first came into the Voices program......I was given a large glass of and told to drink Quote:If you are an outsider, someone who just accesses eBay boards for the first time, or sees the Help boards and comes in to ask questions--then reads the kind of material that was prevelant after the fee increase..you would be completely turned off not only the boards but eBay. Quote:there is a world of difference between, a marginal but genuine topic of general interest and bashing individuals or eBay for fee raises. Quote:It is my feeling after observing and participating on the boards the last few months that the activity helps drive bad public relations and dissent... Quote:Avery, I repectfully disagree. The eBay Help boards should not be an open forum for discussion, they do not say that and should not reflect that. Quote:I would be willing to bet there are at least 100 direct violations of Discussion Boards Usage Policy under the "Some Examples" section on the Stores board right now. |

Re: Deluded eBay University Instructor Tells Sellers to STFU and Drink the Kool-Aid
The part that seemed pretty strange, IMHO, was the continual references to "plotting to bring down a major corporation". Maybe past employment includes working with a Republican administration ..... Nixon anyone?
And you know, I do feel just a little bit sad inside that the hordes of new sellers, the masses of newbies that have been introduced to the magical eBay way of life (you know, from all those popular classes being taught by She Who Must Not be Named) aren't getting a kind and gracious welcome from all those surly SB folks. I'm sure it was with a heavy heart that She W.M.N.B.N took the drastic step to specifically NOT recommend the SB. We should all be ashamed ..... > |
Nah, she's probably part of the Bush admin. :
Both are possibilities. I don't understand how someone can advocate censorship. A few definitions of 'forum': Quote:forum: 3. an assembly, meeting place, television program, etc., for the discussion of questions of public interest. Quote:A public meeting place for open discussion. Is it even possible to have a forum if you prevent the open discussion of questions of public interest ? |

Re: Deluded eBay University Instructor Tells Sellers to STFU and Drink the Kool-Aid
C'mon, I'm sure China and the USSR (in its heyday) had free and open public forums where all concerned citizens could gather to talk about how wonderful the Leaders are, how happy they are with the current regime, how they enjoy standing in line for everything, et. al.
I'm certain She is only thinking of a similiar type of free and open forum at eBay. eBay uber alles! |

WOW, most of the posters of that thread need to switch to sugar free , so the rest of us could read it without having to
Do ya think if eBay actually provided the services that people are paying for, the boards would be more pleasant? Maroons. |
