.ASIA Registrations Now Available At TulipDomains

.ASIA is a brand new and unique top level domain for the Asia-Pacific region, allowing companies and individuals to make their footprint in the region with their own .ASIA web presence.

The registration cost during the landrush pre-registration period is $19.99 per year, with a minimum registration period of 2 years and a maximum of 10.

Eligibility Criteria

Note that as part of the eligibility criteria, at least one of the domain contacts must be part of the 'ASIA community'" which includes Australia and New Zealand. A full list of eligible regions can be found at the end of this announcement.

Registrants must confirm their eligibility by supplying either a Company or Business number (such as an ACN or ABN) for companies, or a passport, drivers license number or other form of valid identification number as specified by the .ASIA registry.

.ASIA Landrush Pre-registration and Auction process

The .ASIA Landrush is the registration period beginning on February 20th 2008 on 12:00 Noon UTC and ending on March 12th 2008 on 24:00 Midnight UTC.

During this time, requests to register a domain will be submitted to the registry. If any other interested party also applies for the domain during the landrush period, it will go to Auction where the customer applying for the domain can place bids on the domain.

Just like any other Auction, the highest bidder wins and secures the domain. If there is only one request for the domain during the landrush, it will be granted to the customer at the normal registration price after March 12th. If an applicant is outbid and they do not successfully register the domain, their registration is fully refunded, and they will not be charged for the auction.

The Auction Process

The auction process will be run by an external auction-house selected by the .ASIA registry, and will be held at an external website where customers can check the status of their domain application.

The auction process facilitiated by Pool will be executed at the end of the landrush during the quiet period. Participants in the landrush will be contacted by Pool via email with details of how to participate.

.ASIA GoLive

After the initial landrush phase, the registry will stop accepting new registrations for a period of two weeks, and will re-open on the "GoLive" date at 12:00 Noon UTC on March 26th. All new domain registrations from this point-forward will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis.
