IAB's five basic privacy principles are:

    * Companies should provide consumers with meaningful notice about the information collected and used for interactive advertising, including explaining practices in a consumer-friendly manner. Web sites also should give meaningful notice of the types of individual information collected for interactive advertising, the technologies employed to collect such information, and how such information is used, including that other companies operate on the site and may collect such information...
