Quote:Since then, sales have continued to grow, and Yaskulka is now an eBay Platinum Power Seller (sales of at least $300,000 per year).

He calls his eBay store Blueberry Boutique, and he has a stand-alone Web site by the same name. He focuses on selling high-end men's clothing.

So how has Yaskulka propelled his sales to this lofty level? He shares his top seven techniques:

1) Dedication to taking care of customers...
2) Reinforce your brand ...
3) Build a reputation as a socially responsible business...
4) Grow online presence through appropriate discussion group postings on eBay ...
5) Source locally...
6) Chose the best operational and marketing partners ...
7) Move outside the eBay channel...

Move outside the eBay channel... :blinkie:
LOL, yeah I was thinking the same thing... Blasphemy!  Except then I noticed it wasn't the official eBay seller profiles that they run, it was a 3rd party ecommerce site..
After reading all the negatives and neutrals he recieved (45 of them) at:
http://www.toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?Use...ryboutique&v=60
sounds like he needs to hire someone to help him out as he seems to send the wrong items to winning bidders too often.

He's the Marketing Chair for PeSA.  PeSA has been expanding beyond eBay over the past 1-1 1/2 years.  They've been on Overstock since Day 1 (and getting special treatment), and I know several of their members are also selling on uBid.

I thought his advice in #3 to use MissionFish/eBay Giving Works stunk  Smile, but in #7 he did have very good advice:

Quote:His real goal, he says, is to drive his customers to his own Web site. "Your own Web site is the fundamental building block of a multi-channel strategy," he says. "If you just take customer X, who's never heard of us from any of the [other shopping sites], our job is to get them to [our web site]."
Update:  Blueberry Boutique has agreed to be acquired by online jewelry merchant Harris Michael Inc.

Quote:Harris Michael, Inc. (www.HarrisMichael.com), a leading online source for fine jewelry, today announced it will acquire Blueberry Boutique (www.blueberryboutique.net), the leading shirt and tie auction retailer.
