The Webinar, presented by Ed Kountz, Senior Analyst for JupiterResearch, and eBillme, is a follow-up to the recent study conducted by JupiterResearch for eBillme. That study evaluated consumers’ considerations when selecting a payment method online and examined opportunities for online merchants to convert these hesitant shoppers into confident buyers.

The results uncovered interesting insights into consumers’ online shopping behavior, indicating that buyer protection is more important than purchase rewards, which turns out to be one of the least important factors for consumers choosing an online payment option. Additionally, the study found that 68 percent of credit card users and 65 percent of debit card users are unaware of their liability coverage should their card or financial information be lost or stolen. That leads to hesitation at the checkout and adversely affects merchant sales.
