Please be aware that the delivery and collection of post is severely disrupted in the Republic of Ireland. This will affect letters and packages sent through An Post, including EMS, Swiftpost, Postaim and Publicity Post.

If you are in a trading relationship with someone who might be affected by this action, please be mindful that payments being sent by post or items dispatched by post will probably be delayed while this action continues. It is advisable to inform your trading partner if you are aware there are problems in your area.

If you are awaiting a payment or delivery of an item, please be patient.

• An Post advises that normal posting may resume but warns of mail delays over coming days as a result of CWU industrial action

An Post advises customers that posting restrictions have now been lifted as collection and delivery services begin to return to normal around the country following the cessation of industrial action by the Communications Workers’ Union this evening.

However letters and parcels are likely to be subject to delays over the coming days as a result of the unnecessary, irresponsible and damaging industrial action taken by CWU, their failure to avert the action on Sunday and the lateness of their announcement of a final decision to cease the disruption this evening.

The company is pleased that the National Implementation Body can now move ahead with an independent clarification of amendments sought by the union to Labour Court recommendations for changes in working arrangements in An Post’s collection and delivery operation.

Swiftpost, EMS, Registered Mail and Passport Express services will also now resume.

Customers may contact the An Post Customer Service Centre on 1850 57 58 59 or visit www.anpost.ie for further information.
