The free version is limited to 10 products:

Quote:The Marketplace is a revolutionary e-commerce solution that enables online sellers/retailers to create virtual stores, for free, on popular social networks. You, the store owner, can boost sales and reach a wider audience by marketing your store on your profile as well as the profiles of your friends, family and trusted customers.

The $10 monthly version includes unlimited products and buyers are redirected to your website (if you have one) to make the purchase:

Quote:But, I already have an online store ! No problem. The Marketplace can integrate with any existing online store. In this case, your Marketplace store acts as an additional marketing channel for your existing online store. You can still showcase all your products in your Marketplace store.

Once a customer, decides to buy a product from you, he/she will be automatically redirected to your existing store where the actual transaction will take place. This means you can leverage all your existing e-commerce investments.

Available as an app on MySpace and planned for several other social networks:

Quote:What social networks do you support?  The Marketplace is still in Beta and will be supported on 4 social networks at launch: Myspace, Orkut, Hi5 and Friendster. After launch we plan to roll out support for the following networks: Facebook, Yahoo!, AOL, iGoogle, LinkedIn, Ning, Webon, Socialtext, 51.com, Freebar, IDtail, Mail.ru, Netlog, YiQi, FanBox, lokalisten, minglebox, Hyves, imeem, Viadeo, CityIN, Tianya, Plaxo Pulse, XiaoNei.

The Marketplace app now supports MySpace, Hi5, Friendster, and Facebook (beta).

Premium stores can import items from their existing Zen Cart (Zen RSS mod must be installed)  and Etsy stores.

Positives:
1. buyers are automatically redirected to the product page on your existing website when they want to make the purchase
2. (Premium stores) After setting up your store on one social network you just need to enter an activation code to activate it on the other 3 supported networks.
3. Price-only $10 monthly for unlimited clickthroughs to my website from 4 social networks...compare that to the cost of CPC comparison engines like Shopzilla, Shopping.com, etc.

Zen Cart importer negatives:
1. the importer gives error messages if you try to import more than 100 products at a time.  I had to do an import of each category's RSS feed rather than using the 'all products' RSS feed.
2. the importer hung on many images and there was no way to bypass the hung product so in some categories I was only able to import a few products from the feed.

Due to the glitches, I only managed to import 2450 of 17850 items.

Store negatives
1. no categories
2. no search

Amy negatives:
1. I setup the store on all 4 supported networks but have yet to finish setting up our profile pages on any of the networks.  :-[

Amy,

Appreciate your feedback. We have been working on getting the Zen Cart importer performance faster and more reliable - we have had performance issues in the past but most of the issues have been fixed now.

Would love to get more feedback.  You can get more information about Netcarnation Marketplace from our website http://www.netcarnation.com
