Quote:UBidRight.com is poised to become a viable alternative auction site for those who do not want to pay the high fees at eBay.....

Not likely. UBidRight , a perennial bottom dweller on PSU's auction site count chart, is now a parked page. The site apparently silently closed sometime after May 19th, 2010 and the domain is now for sale on SEDO.

Drats, my $5 bid for the domain name was too low.

Premium domain names typically sell for three or four-figure amounts, and sellers will simply not respond to a bid if it is too low. If you need help setting a price, you can request an expert Domain Appraisal. You are REQUIRED to enter a bid of at least 60 $US.

Based on this thread, it's a miracle the site stayed open as long as it did. :

The lack of technical knowledge shown in that thread is typical of the majority of PHP Pro Bid "site owners". My favorite recent quote by a "site owner" is:
PSU user Wrote:Your registration page is problematic.
Potentially sensitive personal information is required on an insecure form... you have no SSL in place.
site owner CPABAY Wrote:Please define problematic.
ssl is not in place at the moment but is being added shortly we are in testing faze at the moment but the information is still protected by html source codes.

WTF :blinkie: :

That's funny. It actually reads like a comedy skit!
Except that it's so common not really funny.
Like almost everyone else, I'd forgotten about UBidRight...all things considered, $5.00 for the domain name seems about right.

Problematic definition: some tard starts an auction site and names it xxxBAY and is forced to close 2 weeks later after eBAY's lawyers send him a trademark infringement C&D
