Hello, Im David Wygant, a Product Marketing Manager here at eBay. Id like to update you on our progress with the development of the next generation Sell Your Item (SYI) form. As you know, weve been working on this with you since the beginning of the year. Our goal is to make the SYI form shorter and more efficient for both new and experienced sellers.
Weve received a lot of good input from sellers who have helped us kick the tires on SYI Alpha 1 and SYI Alpha 2. Weve incorporated much of what weve learned from you into the newest version of the tool that were releasing today. Were getting closer to the final version of SYI 3.0, so were calling this version SYI: Early Access.
We encourage you to try our new SYI: Early Access version and let us know what you think. Making the Early Access version your regular listing tool will help us continue to fine-tune the form before its official release sometime in 2006. Plus, its a great way to get a head start in transitioning to the new form.
New features in this version of SYI include:
* A simple 1-2-3 listing process -- fewer pages and fields help cut down on the time it takes to create a listing.
* A category suggestions feature this ensures your item is listed in the best category for maximum exposure to buyers.
* Dynamic help and personalized tips these provide guidance and best practices to help you create a better listing.
* Listing preview section see what your listing will look like when viewed by potential buyers before you submit your listing.
* Re-usable listing templates these make it easier for you to list additional items.
One note for eBay Motors sellers: the Motors categories wont be available via the Search Category Selection feature for a few more weeks. In the meantime, you can still select eBay Motors categories when listing by using Browse Category Selection.
To access the new Sell Your Item: Early Access form, see our information page. You can also get to the page by clicking on Sell at the top of almost every eBay page, and then clicking on the link at the top of that page (next to the light bulb).
