Any guesses what Meg and Bill will go for?  Happy001
[/quote]

No guesses on them, but Pierre will sell in a reserve price auction for "only a dollar"  :twistedevil: :twistedevil:

I'd have less objections to the 3 stooges Meg, Bill, and Pierre being sold than I do to pets being listed.  Smile

Quote:The listings would not be transactional and there would only be a listing fee.

Translation: listing fees but no FVF for ebay's new local classifieds listing format

I really think the whole reason for this is eBay's annoyance that some of its former top executives have had great success with this type of format after starting Live Deal.

Is this picture better?  Smile
I was confused.  BIG SURPRISE!  I thought you didn't like WHO the graphic was hotlinked to.

Over 2000 posts on that eBay boards thread.  The beating eBay is taking on that thread is minor compared to the public relations beating they will take in the press if the major animal rights groups step into the fray.

More great press for eBay.  Ahhhh life just doesn't get any better!

eBay's Mexican site (Mercadolibre) has hundreds of live dogs, cats, chinchillas, and roosters that are being advertised for cockfighting up for auction.

Quote:eBay has dropped plans to facilitate sales of live pets on its site after thousands of eBay members attacked the move as irresponsible.

Now eBay is shelving part of plan. "We are no longer considering expanding eBay with the for-profit sale of pets by commercial breeders," Hani Durzy, a spokesman for the company, said.

eBay is still considering another piece of its plan that most discussion board commentators applauded--a listing service for shelters to facilitate pet adoption, Durzy said. He said the company has not decided whether it would charge a listing fee for such a service.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your additional feedback. While we had hoped to be able to find common ground on the issue of facilitating local shelter adoptions on eBay.com, it appears that sentiment among our members is strongly going the other way. In short, the dominant point of view we’ve heard is that you do not want pet listings – whether for adoption from shelters or from commercial breeders – on eBay.com. Consequently, we will not pursue the idea further.

We have initiated a preliminary discussion with Betsy Saul, President of Petfinder.com – a site that many of you suggested – to talk about possible ways we might work together. We will let you know what we find out.

Sincerely,

Lori
