See as far as optimization is concerned different search engines have different ways of looking at it . For example google is banning authentic websites in the sake of stopping websites not adhering to its algorithm, whereas Yahoo has a mysterious way of giving rankings where if a website has just 100 links could be ranking on top for keywords like "seo" etc.

MSN is acting MR.Cool act by copying both Yahoo, and Google. In any case I dont feel that search engine optimization overkills. If you dont do it you are sure to die a slows death of a lonely frog in a deep well.
