The Arkansas Auctioneer's Licensing Board is scheduled to meet Tuesday in Little Rock to consider drafting regulations on sales by commission on the popular Internet auction site.
The issue arose after the state board notified Snappy Auctions of Little Rock, an eBay store, that it needs an auctioneer's license to do business.
Both Brad Wooley, chairman of the licensing board, and Bob Smith of Little Rock, attorney for the Snappy Auctions store, said they expected the matter to be worked out to both sides' satisfaction.
However, Wooley said in an interview that he did not think licenses should be required for people who sometimes sell items for other people, only for businesses who set up locations with that as their primary business...
