RSS search feed reader service SearchFox reported on 10 January that it will shut down on 25 January 2006

Please export all of your links and an OPML file with your RSS sources before the site shuts down. In accordance with our privacy policy, we will delete all personal information on January 25 after we shut down the services.

Yahoo reportedly has agreed to buy some assets of the company:

Quote:Reliable sources are reporting that SearchFox, which announced that it will be shutting down as of January 25, 2006, has sold its assets to Yahoo. At least some of the employees have moved over to Yahoo as well.

There is no indication of price...

So, were the customers included in the deal or will their accounts still be deleted?  SF's privacy policy does say:

Quote:We transfer information about you if SearchFox is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, SearchFox will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
