This is Money has learned that an ongoing dispute between UK PayPal the eBay company that allows online payments between buyers and sellers and American Express, means that all Amex transactions must be conducted through the US PayPal service rather than the British one.
It means that British Amex customers are unknowingly paying for their purchases using US dollars
Mr Anderson also pointed out that PayPal will take a cut of the seller's profit, meaning that they profit from both ends of the transaction.
