Dear Sellers,

As some of you may already know, in order to use inventory loading tools on our web site, Pro Merchant sellers needed to set up their Seller Preferences in their Seller Account to reflect an accurate ship-from zip code.  We have received feedback from some sellers that this requirement was unclear, and that sellers sometimes experienced difficulty submitting uploads through our system due to Seller Preferences not being set up.

Going forward, we would like to make it easier for sellers to use inventory loading tools on our web site.  Beginning immediately, Seller Preferences will be automatically populated with zip codes when new sellers register on our web site.  In the next two weeks, we will be backfilling zip codes for existing Pro Merchant sellers who do not have Seller Preferences set up.  To do this, we will use the zip code from the seller’s billing address to populate the zip code field in Seller Preferences. 

Note: If you are not a Pro Merchant, this change will not affect you.  If you are a Pro Merchant, and you have already set up your Seller Preferences, your preferences will not be changed.

If you would like to enter your zip code information yourself, or you need to enter a zip code other than the zip code associated with your billing address, you can do so at any time by logging into your Seller Account and clicking “Edit your seller preferences” under the Account Settings heading.

If you don’t use inventory loading tools, this change will not affect the way you list items on our web site.  However, if you decide to use inventory loading tools in the future, this change should make it easier for your to transition to using the new tools.
