Mother-of-two Leanne Emanuel, 24, yesterday admitted fleecing unsuspecting internet shoppers over 11 months.

She set up fraudulent bank accounts with stolen details then placed items she did not possess - such as laptop computers and digital cameras - for sale on auction sites eBay and sold.com.au.

She was initially accused of stealing $135,000 but, while District Court Judge Stephen Norrish QC noted the police suspicions about the higher amount, he said he could only sentence Emanuel on the items for which she had pleaded guilty.

"Clearly, she took advantage of a system she knew could be exploited," Judge Norrish said yesterday...
