You should get the Site Advisor plugin for Internet Explorer and Firefox.  It identifies virus, malware, and adware infected sites in the search results so you're able to avoid clicking through to them.    "When you search with Google, Yahoo! or MSN, SiteAdvisor's safety ratings appear next to search results."
