Quote:They started charging me $7.95 monthly Settlement Statement Fee.

You're lucky, when they surprised us with that charge (somewhere between 6-12 months after we joined) it was $10 monthly.

I'm almost positive that I already opted out of that a few months ago. Anyway, I found a new merchant provider yesterday that I'm kinda excited about, although I'm still checking it out (http://www.discountcreditcardmachine.com). 1.69% (only 2.54% for reward cards, corporate cards, etc.). Free terminal with one year contract (they were asking for 3 years but that's like an eternity). 24/7 customer service. $25 minimum, $8.95 statement fee but no gateway fee because I don't use a shopping cart. I swipe or key in my transactions because I do trade shows and fairly high-end products. I know that doesn't work for everyone.
only 2.54% for reward cards

I didn't know that the merchants have to "pay" for reward cards.  Hmmmmm

I guess that's why some merchants don't take Discover.
Nothing in life is FREE my little buddies.  Nono

Of course the merchants are paying higher transaction fees
when promotional cards are used that have frequent flyer miles,
1.5 cash back and all the other perk type gimmicks.

I'm telling you guys. The corporations of today.
The credit card companies, banks, big box retailers, the PayPals,
ebays and insurance companies ect...
Are all nothing but yesterdays mobsters who hung up their Smileybankerflame
and put on coats ties and fancy dresses.

They don't call it racketeering or loan sharking anymore.

NOW IT JUST CALLED "BUSINESS" for all the fat  Kaofour

Just look around and see all the carp consumers are REALLY paying for.

Why is a box of Tide $8.00 to $10.00?  :blinkie:
See that cool race car driving on the track with TIDE on the side?

Why is your insurance policy thicker than grandpas old bible?

Hell the government is right in the mix of it all.

How many states now have a lottery?

WHAT???

A NUMBERS GAME...

THEY WERE BUSTING MOBSTERS for this
what 10 15 20 years ago?

In NC they have slots everywhere in the mom and pop
convenience stores (for fun) RIGHT. Lol

Our state just started the lottery.
Now all of a sudden they are outlawing the slots that the mom and pops had going on.

In Florida you can't run a BINGO hall unless your a non profit org.

Yet the state has a "numbers" game?

The Indians can have a Multi Billion Dollar Casino operation
but don't let the law catch you and your buddies playing poker for money.  Violent5

OK I think the Indians deserve it.

It's mayhem out here people.
Cats doing dogs, gas costs more a gallon than beer, grandmas in old folks home being hauled away in a patty wagon for playing bingo for quarters in the rec hall.

OK I'm done.... For now

Really, Stardust? has it been that long? Smileyofftopic
Heh.  ABQ is touted as one of the largest gay communities per capita in the US.  We have so many lesbos here that it's downright hard to figure out who is what with their clothes on.  I kid you not!!  The women are getting unbelievably masculine, and the men are becoming soft and effeminate.

One of my parents' friend's sons stands 6'2" or so, and is just a bit younger than me.  Winston has decided he's a girl.  He's grown his own *chest* and everything, been thru numerous surgeries.  *She* looks better and more feminine than I do.  I'm actually envious of *her* figure.  *Win* gets the final surgery in August.....  :o    gosh..........

I'll say it again.  Can't tell who is what anymore........... Sad
