Quote:The store count dropped, has the post been pulled yet? Which store was it and how many items went poof? I must be lossing it the past few stores that closed slipped by me. I still have a list though that I am watching that are delisting.
let the truth be told
u1it4less - "it's all in the name.."
It was bikinilingerie with 14 items at the time they closed today. The post is still there but no one has stopped in to say goodbye or wish them luck. Ray must be occupied training his new hamster.Â
Did you catch tweeny? They left too.

bikinilingerie just showed up at PSU asking for help in opening one of those PSU websites. Just passing this along in case any of you know anything about the process and can offer some help.
I know nothing about the PSU sites, so I'm not much good in that area.Â
Here's another thought DB...
If Alexa rankings are so unimportant than why was Karen citing Alexa numbers herself? Didn't she just say that violates a policy? Evidently she thought they were important or at least worthy of consideration as noted by my bolding below. When did the policy change to "outlaw" reporting these numbers or is KaRay exempt from his/her own rules?
Shame on you Ray - you're nothing but a two-faced liar. Proof positive.
Quote:Hello Members,
I've been noticing a lot of talk about "numbers" lately.
Talk about what they mean, and what they do not, what is good, and what is not.
I'm going to throw around two numbers for discussion, and I'm curious to see if the significance of them after 112 (!) days is apparent.
Here goes:
Alexa Traffic Rank for Wagglepop (after 112 days):
Overall: 70,427
Today: 30,834
Any and all thoughts and comments are welcome

I don't know what KaRay have been saying to Poppers lately, but it is apparent some Poppers are aware of the dismal Alexa stats and are trying to discount them.
Popper quote:
Quote:Alexa is a good tool to use to 'consider' various aspects of e-activity, but like all the tools out there, should not be considered gospel
My Translation: Alexa is worth a look-see, but don't put much credence in the stats.

I don't yet but I'm going to open one myself on PSU. To be a reference and a redirect for all the sites I sell on. Maybe we can stumble through it together. Rat, I can't find the thread...

Well, like someone said earlier (and it may have been you, lol) - they seem to use what will benefit WP. They loved Alexa when the rankings were getting better, now it should be dismissed. Doesn't make sense, you can't have it both ways. Karen herself posted those numbers to show their significance. While I certainly wouldn't look at the stats as "gospel", I still stand by statement its a good "indicator".
I must be bored tonight, lol.
Desperation has truly set in. In response to the poster that asked with help moving their store to WP from eBay comes this gem:

An example of a "conned" store as defined by Truth:
Look up Garlands and Roses, ID name timeforoses. Registered July 26, 2006 with a feedback of 10 (only 8 show up though). Currently there are 34 items in this store. There have been 34 item since November - none added, none sold since then, no logo, no work done to enhance the store, no reciprocal feedback left for buyers. This store is just squatting.
The cost of upholding that store since July = 89.55
The cost of the 34 items listed at base price = 183.50 (like there is going to be a bidding war!)
Profit if every item sold tomorrow 93.94 less FVFs
My math tells me that eBay would be cheaper and my gut instinct tells me that this store is a phony!
KaRay have you received yours today? No? Well here!Â
The "dynamic" results of WP's increased traffic campaign:

I was playing around on my sitemeter and found it very interesting to see where the hits are coming from. Now I know that I have several of my hits from hit exchange sites because I do those on occassion, but I like to look more closely at the other ones that come through.
Today I had one from a place called Wow! I have never seen that site before but my XXX store was on there. Last week I had another one that I had never seen before, and I can't even remember where it was from anymore.
And many of the google searches had me on page one of their searches, below many from Ebay. But still they scrolled down the page and clicked into my store on Wagglepop.
I find that behavior very interesting. It goes to show that the buyers aren't just interested in what is on Ebay anymore, they are ready to shop elsewhere. And thank goodness we are all elsewhere and loving it at Wagglepop!
Check in the detail section of your sitemeter and watch as WP gets more noticable on the internet
OK. So here are ALL the replies (notice, not one confirmation):

For some reason my hits have been rather low lately!!
I was getting alot more, a couple of weeks ago. Maybe it is because all my listings from Craigslist were removed? Although, I was not just getting hits from Craigslist at that time, I was also getting from Google and Yahoo. Now I only get some from Google every once in a while. Not sure what is up??
Take care

We're not doing well on the traffic end of things either. I find we get the most hits if we post here....but unfortunately it's just people who are curious and not really looking to purchase our items - other Sellers clicking our siggy out of curiousity

Is everyone getting more traffic?I think I got more traffic the week before the Grand Opening than I have since then. Not complaining just an observation.
Ahem, Poppers! I think you can unfasten your seatbelt now AND HEAD FOR THE EXIT!

I thought exactly the same thing. That seller will try and get it any way they can. I feel bad for the one moving in. Sheesh to move in over  1000 items then just have to move than out again will be exhausting. Believe me I am speaking from experience..... But I'm almost there!
