Quote: There are a large number of sellers that have less then 25 items in their store with items averaging $10 or less.
Can you be more specific Vital?
Exactly how many sellers are you talking about?
Message to Greencreek:
There are 38 pages of stores listed -- 25 per page. 935 total, according to WP.Â
Stores with 50 or less items start on page 16. That means that more than half have less than 50 items in the store.
25 items starts towards the top of page 21. Combining 1st and last page to equal one, my math says 21 thru 38 equals 17 pages x 25 listings = 425, divided by 928 = 48%.
Stores with 10 items or less start on page 27. You guys do the math.
A lot of these stores are just place-holders, but their money is still being spent and thrown away on obviously nada.

Frankly, I hope that means that these people are not putting a lot of faith in Ray's powers and that they will soon stop wasting their money on this pitiful, lost cause.

Yup, what Stardust said. My theory is that many of those stores have mentally left wp and are simply ignoring their wp invoice. Ray probably doesn't want to cancel them right now due to what it would do to the store numbers.Â
So if that theory is true, then it also means that Ray is making a whole lot less money then the numbers reflect.

As well he should.Â

Quote:sell-thru is an irrelevant and illogical consideration.

I don't think that was well-worded, but I think I understand what he's trying to say, but sooner or later, a person at least has to expect to be able to cover their expenses. That's not looking very good for a lot of people, so no matter if it's called sell-through or whatever, it comes down to a financial loss for most people so far.

When do you think WP will have grown enough that larger sellers like Sneaky (4 employees) will be able to cover their expenses if they moved to WP (
the site where everyone is stampeding to according to a mentally challenged boinktard named DRM/brian1212)?
WP has gained listings, but it hasn't gained many members at all, so the buyer pool (excluding seller-to-seller sales) is so very very limited that it's doubtful that more than a handful of sellers will be able to turn a profit. WP has under 6000 members (potential buyers on site almost all of whom are also sellers)---compare that with ePier with 101,000 members, Bidville with 900,000 or eBay's 78 million active/200 million registered. There are many online sellers whose customer lists (which are all buyers) are larger than Wagglepop's membership list (which is 99% sellers). WP so far hasn't been able to attract anyone beyond eBay Stores board users and until it does (which is doubtful with management that refuses to advertise its own site) it's highly unlikely that anyone but Ray will be making any significant money.
