Truth,
What happened with the Xbox? I missed that one I'm a newbie here...LOL.
Also can one of you ladies tell me do your customers have to register when they want to buy something with your ecrater store? I've been working on this thing all day. Do tell do Tell about the Xbox!
:
keith_m71,
I'll look back in the thread and find some posts about the X-BOX but in the meantime I will bring some older but important posts forward to today to make your reading easy. The quote below explains how negative growth is viewed as a positive at waggleflop.

WAGGLEFACT OF THE DAY
THE TRUTH STRIKES BACK
KA/RAYÂ’S IMPLOSION & TRYING TO BELIEVE HIMSELF
Quote:Actually, it's less than usual.
Seems there are a few enjoying the drama of the farewell tours, so it seems like a calamity when it's actually normal and expected.
We generally lose some longer terms Store accounts and replace them with new Store accounts on about a 3 to 2 basis, meaning for each day we lose 15 older accounts, we would add 10 new ones.
That's about the average day: 15 closures, and 10 new ones.
The newer accounts over the past 10-12 weeks have a much higher long-term rate of stability, and a vast majority of the older Stores which close are either established sellers who are more comfortable with the eBay-type environment, or sellers whose accounts we close for delinquent accounts.
Once the closures stabilize by exhausting from the intial "pool" of sellers who wanted to try WP but did not stay, we'll have our established successful sellers from that group who stayed, and it looks like about 10 new ones each day.
That is remarkably good growth.
So, although you see the present numbers going down, we see the long-term base going up.
Most business is about setting aside the "obvious" numbers and getting to the real trends, and this is a good example Â
Karen - WP Customer Care
The above statement proves many things.
#1 Karen and Ray are the same person. If there is someone else in this world other than ray that believes negative 5 in business terms is a good thing please point that person out to me. Maybe I could employ that person for negative 5 dollars an hour.
#2 “Most businesses is about setting aside the "obvious" numbers and getting to the real trends, and this is a good example.” Yes put aside all the fudged numbers and the fact is the trend is downward. As of 8PM EST 322 stores with 50 or fewer listings. That is 322 people paying on an average almost $.70 per listing as per smart sell pro $9.95 a month. Yes ray the real trend is downward!
#3 “We generally lose some longer terms Store accounts and replace them with new Store accounts on about a 3 to 2 basis, meaning for each day we lose 15 older accounts, we would add 10 new ones.” Longer term meaning established WP stores. New store accounts meaning the ones Ray starts to make it seem like there is a flow of traffic. The fact is there is no traffic other than the sellers that are there and people from TT exposing your scam Ray.
#4 The only person who needs to believe this is Ray. Only thing is he is having a hard time with it himself. Keep slipping up Ray you are the root of your own demise and only a complete idiot would agree with the quote above!

Yep Beeswax, DB has been known to drop a great post and make the poppers that lurk here perceive a glimmer of light - even if they do so kicking and screaming.
And I loved that creepy little benign lady in Poltergeist. She is a testament to the fact that size doesn't matter!Â

OMG...they almost had a buyer!
Quote:SirBuysAlot 24 Nov 2006 02:53  Â
I wanted an XBox 360 with the memory. When I typed in X Box 360 a model train car came up. Is there a special way to search here?
wagglepopCC1Â 24 Nov 2006 03:10Â Â Â
SirBuysAlot,
As there appear to be no XBox 360's available currently, the following listing was the closest match for your keyword query:
N ~ MTL ~ Minnesota State Box Car ~ 21360 ~ NIB
Under normal circumstances, a better solution might be to browse to the Video Games category first, and either browse or search by keyword from there
Karen - WP Customer Care
What are "normal" circumstances? When I am in a hurry, I just type what I want in the search and narrow it down from there. Geez, telling a potential buyer how to shop is totally unprofessional. Get a clue, Karen/Ray.

Then, they have another prospective buyer who sees through the haze.
Quote:I found WP originally from the eBay seller's board however it is not difficult to find information about this site now - not always a good thing however.
Wonder what kind of astoundingly stupid pooping answer they are going to have for that one.
[/quote]
Chiquita,
That was a good one." Sir you don't need a Xbox get yourself a model train car or just go get you a game for the Xbox since we have no seelers that sale them.
What amazes me is this guy really had me fooled. I've been selling for years on Feebay and I got sucked right in but like I had said earlier I'm just glad it didn't take but a month for me to learn...
For Keith and the newer TT posters.
This is a post from OTWA(another forum that chronicled the WP1 saga) I have posted this many times, but felt it needed to be seen once more.

There is no pie-in-the-sky "venue" that is going to come along and whisk us all away to the old days on eBay. eBay's price structure, and the ever-increasing shipping rates, and the buyer's market that exists at eBay with the huge GLUT of items available means that the days of buying used stuff at yardsales and turning it around on the internet for huge profits is DONE. It is over. It's been over for a long time. And that is not going to change. Moving to another "venue" and pining away for that "venue" to save you isn't going to do anything but waste your time. SYI proved that, beyond a shadow of a doubt. They did just about everything right. They had high placement in search engines. The site was easy to use and navigate. It was a "community" trading site, and nothing more.
It is indeed true that only 30something% of those who buy stuff on the internet do so at online auctions. It's also the case that the other 60something% know that eBay exists... so why aren't they buying at eBay, or other online auctions? Because they don't want to! They've been ripped off at eBay, they've heard about someone being ripped off, they think it's a hassle to buy stuff there, find stuff there, etc... and so they don't. They buy from other websites, but not at online auctions.
Here's the deal folks... SELLERS want an alternative to eBay. We all know that.
BUYERS do NOT want an alternative to eBay. It's been proven already, all over the internet. For YEARS.... SYI, Auctions.com, Gold's, Carnaby, eDeal, DutchBid, BidBay, BidVille, 321Gone, ePier, Yahoo Auctions, Amazon Auctions, and on and on and on it goes... It's not a new concept that sellers want an alternative. It's been going on since at least 1999. For the past 6 years, I have watched and participated in dozens of alternative auction sites.... some with thousands and thousands of members... with tens of thousands of listings. (some of them even fudged it to look like millions, but it never was....)
SEO has been tried. LOTS of them have or had really strong SEO. iOffer today has superb SEO. Where are the buyers? They aren't there. Buyers want the selection, the price, etc. and no site other than eBay will offer them that as well as eBay does... and eBay they know something about, while these other sites are not so familiar, and kinda spooky to someone spending their hard earned money.
Buyers will buy from you, but you have to specialize, and you have to open a website or a store on a larger shopping site, or something like that if you want to be successful selling on the internet.
I know you are excited about Wagglepop. I know you LOVE the idea of a new site coming along and the power you feel that you are finally taking some control of your business and getting past the frustrations eBay has dealt you... the anger that eBay has made you feel... It's not JUST about the fees, is it? It's about a lot more than JUST the fees. It's about eBay spending all of it's energy doing things to make eBay more money, and NONE of that energy to make YOU more money. Nobody is trying to put money in YOUR pocket, and that is exactly what eBay SHOULD be doing... but they don't. You know it, and it makes you angry, and it should, because it could be so very different than it is...
But this Wagglepop. That's not going to do it either. It's going to feel good for a while, and then it's not going to feel so good. You will fight for it, protect it, try to nurture it to life, but in the end, IT WILL DIE. It will because every other site just like it has died. It will because it is not a formula for success. Not for you, not for Ray. Your hopes, your dreams of what you want it to be will be dashed against the rocks, run straight into the wall, thrown off a cliff... because this is NOT a forumla for success folks. It's just not.
You can build something for yourself on the web, but it's not going to happen at an auction site. If you want success for yourself on the internet, if you want an internet based business, then you need to face up to facts, look reality in the face, put down the happy cake and get serious about your business. That day when you could be naive and pop a few things on eBay and make a bunch of money are OVER. They aren't going to revive at some other place. You think your sales on eBay suck, just wait until you've spent a couple of months at Wagglepop. Oh, you can still chat with your friends and have fun at the community site known as Wagglepop, where buyers and sellers are all the same handful of people... and there is nothing wrong at all with doing that... but if you are serious about building a business online, you are wasting your time with this.
Flame away, I know you do not want to hear it, but it is absolutely the truth.... and you need to hear it.
