If you have a business your leader should be you or someone in your company--NOT someone in a different company. Relying on an outside company like Wagglepoop or FleaBay for leadership is a good way to get screwed.

AND, acknowleding a "leader" outside your own company is a very cult-like way of thinking.

Exactly, it creates dependency, not independence. You rely on the leader to make decisions that will directly affect your business. Ray is not the poster boy of trust, and has demonstrated this by persistently breaking his promises, exaggerating claims, and inflating and fudging numbers.
WP is not the poster child of a trust based community.

Interesting stats. I've kept record of all new stores opening since January and updating their status on a regular basis. Here's a report for January 2007. Those that opened during that month and where they are now. Statistically it's actually more than one a day. But I am convinced some of them qualify as ghost stores as they fit the profile and have not evolved into more than a presence at the bottom of the feed chain.
20 stores - still active and alive
03 stores - empty but not closed
35 stores - CLOSED since their January opening
06 stores - members that posted in the forum stating they would be opening a store on WP soon. Only 1 has done so, and that has happened in the last 2 days. The, 'what do I name my store' guy.
3 ghost stores have been retired in the last couple of days. The most popular one, used on a regular basis:

And 2 so called 'new' stores registered this month had inventory but have depleted all their listings. Makes you go Hmmmmm....

Hmmm... I guess e-pets has been stealing nips out of the hamster bottle again...
I'll tell you... when I found WP after the eBay fee hikes, I was really excited. I thought that it could have been someplace to sell my items that had the potential to succeed. What a waste of time. No advertising, cult-like thinking and such nonsensical message boards. The deleted posts and censorship was more than I could tolerate...Â
One thing I do miss is being excited over an idea. I haven't been excited over a new idea or venue in a while...
WP was the last time I thought maybe I could move from eBay and have a chance... but ya know... I'd NEVER jump ship and run to a new venue ever again. I'd watch it, review it, learn about it and then maybe... just maybe... grace them with my presence (LOL).....
Ray... you had a good thing going there but then you got... "weird"... I'd never sell... or buy... at your site ever again.Â
See ya!
But I also have to thank you Ray. Because of all the BS on your site, I've learned to work with the eBay fees and still earn a profit... I've moved some items to other venues and I've learned what to look for (and what NOT to look for) in a venue and most importantly learned not to put all my eggs in one basket.
And for that Ray ... thanks!!!Â
Now... go find something to do in your room so the grown-ups can talk.Â
Hey guys... OT OT OT.... OY.....LOL
I'm still waiting for your logos and websites to add to my site. I'm still figuring out things and tweaking but I'm more than willing to add links for you. I will be setting up adwords for this site so I should get some good traffic.
You can see how your logo will be displayed... go toÂ
www.fabulousforless.com and click on Favorite Sellers....
Just email me the site and if your logo is there, I'll just copy it and put it on my site.
Feel free to add my site to your sites too if you can ((hint, Hint... LOL))Â

Can anyone explain this series of events?
1) In August, E-Pets opens a store on WP and languishes in obscurity for 7 months, with one item.
2) On March 22, I posted reference to this store (see post 10512), citing a previous post the seller made on WP back in August, with the usual rah, rah, and how 3,000 eBay items were soon to be moved to WP. However, on the date of my post (7 months later), the eBay store was still going strong, and as near as I could see, the links on the WP store led directly to the seller's B&M catalog, a link to the one WP item listed, plus a feedback link entitled "short reading" (I had to chuckle), since the feedback totaled 1.
3) Within hours from my post, e-Pets changes its site's home page completely, removing the catalog and "short reading" links, and starts a product list-athon. It then posts the now famous "to our leader, Karen" post on WP, dated March 25, and proceeds to engage in a board spamathon.
4)Â On March 25, User391 coincidentally decides to step from the shadows to honor us with a guest appearance in defense and support of e-Pets, and WP in general. Hmmmm -- AND suddenly my karma takes a big hit.
