Quote:is the cart where I list the items I have for sale or is that where I just set up my payment options?
Both. The cart is basically your entire website. Zen also has EZ_Pages which let you add extra pages to your cart (for. a FAQ etc.)
Quote:Which cart do you recommend? Miranda suggested that CRE was more user friendly.
I use Zen but some people prefer CRE
<--that's a non answerÂ
The one big difference between Zen and CRE is that CRE has "checkout without an account." while Zen requires buyer registration. The registration occurs during checkout though and the only extra info a first time buyer needs to provide is a password.

BBH
Someone on the Zen forums has recently done a mod that allows for "checkout without an account". All the reports are good so far. He's putting the finishing touches on it this week so it will work with Super Orders. Here's the thread:
Checkout Without An Account Mod.Â
Did KaRay blame today's outage on the weather?

No, as usual it was 'upstream connectivity' issues. What a joke.
Quote:Hello Members,
We experienced some intermittent network connectivity issues to the data center between midnight and about 1:00 am EST, and again between about 4 am and 8 am EST.
The upstream providers have notified us as of this morning that all is back to normal and access is restored as normal
Karen - WP Customer Care
Unfortunately, most people (myself included) aren't as knowledgeable about this kind of stuff as BBH, Amy, Regic, etc and therefore buy the BS hook, line and sinker.

Um Ka/Ray,
That was a flat out lie. Let's tell the whole truth here Ray. The WP site was down from about midnight until about 8AM EST. Yes Ka/Ray feel asleep at his delete key. I happened to be up at 2 and 3 AM EST and the site was down the entire time.

Ray's hamster kicked the bucket again.

I'm getting a solid white page.ÂÂ

It must be an upstream problem or more likely Ray is cutting costs and switched from dedicated servers to a sharred sever. Whatever it is just think of it as a preview of things to come. Someday soon when you go to WP there will be no WP found.
Are you sweating it RayÂÂ

Look at the time in my post above, that would be 2:13 AM EST if I am correct.

"Upstream connectivity" = the USB cable between Ray's computer and the hamster wheel got pinched under the wheel of his office chair.

I can vouch for that, as I was up, too. Like Eclectica says, most Poppers (as well as I) don't have the techie brains BBH and others here have, and would never question Ray's :lies2n: :lies2n: :lies2n: Anybody here with board access willing to give the Poppers the real scoop? Just copy and paste on every thread. Even Ray can't delete all the posts at once.
A couple of poppers commenting on the lack of sales:
Quote:Hope sales pickup for everyone. Mine have not been bad. I'm at about 42% of what I did last year ... that's not good but I've had a lot worse so I'm not complaining ... and we do have six more days to go.
Quote:Got lots of new stuff ready to list over thEre since that is where my sales are coming from nowadays - WWAAAAHHHHH but i have to do what i have to do. hope everyone is doing better than me as far as sales i'm holding out a little longer but have to do what have to do in the meantime, still have bills to pay LOL
Store count has gone back down since yesterday...
310 Stores found
Maybe they got lost in the outage.  :blinkie:
arcasm1:
Any one here that can still get on follow this thread:

Quote:Hi all -
For those that are willing, please respond and post your store subscription level, and your # of sales (not $ amounts, just number of total sales for that month) for Jan, Feb. & Mar. to date.
I'd like to get as much data as possible (there are 311 stores now), and have all levels of store subscribers respond (showcase, basic & featured).
This is just for a personal survey & none of this data will be shared or passed on to anyone.
Thanks in advance!
Some of the comments so far:
Quote:I don't mind sharing my info:
Level - Basic
Sales:
Jan. - Zero
Feb. - Zero
Mar. - Zero
Last completed purchase was on Dec.25, 2006.
Also, up until today, I had 49 items listed. Today, I pulled 11, so I am down to 38. At least half of my items would sell elsewhere. Just thought I'd mention this because a few people have commented that we would have more sales if we had more items listed.
Quote:Hi,
My numbers are:
Jan 0
Feb 5
Mar 2
Good luck!
Quote:I have had a Basic store for about 6 months.
One sale in all that time, that was several months ago.
I do continue to add new listings, and am still hopeful!
Good luck.

There are a lot more comments than what I've mentioned, this is only a few.  What on earth are these sellers waiting for.  I'm surprised this thread hasn't been pulled by now.  Well Ray  you ought to read this thread, these are the real numbers , no fudged numbers like you provide.  Business really stinks for these sellers.  Come on poppers wake up and move on there are other venues out there that are getting great sales, what on earth are you waiting for.  How can your busisness survive this way.
