... it still doesn't feel real. I still pray that we made the right decision. I miss him terribly. I keep expecting him to come around the corner and give me his "Mommy, can I have a treat?" look... I really miss him a lot. He was so sick...
[/quote]
Not to sound blunt here, but you stop your praying! YOU DID THE RIGHT THING! You made the biggest sacrifice one who has animal companions can make! You took on the hurt and the pain and the saddness so your babe didn't have to endure it. That's the biggest, most kind-hearted, most real love anyone can have for another living thing.
I can still break down and cry over the ones I've had to say bye to. Shoot, my Buster (19 year old cat) slept on my back every night. I had a newer, pillow top queen size bed ... I laid in it and cried for about a week before moving down to the couch to be able to sleep. Then I got rid of this perfectly wonderfully comfortable bed for a cheap full size... those memories are always going to be with you.
And I still stick by my own thought of - for every tear or smile a memory brings, it's your babe reaching back out to tell you they still love you too.
Stop second-guessing though - put no more thought into it - it's your pain that's causing you to wonder if you did right by Dusty. You DID do right by him. It just hurts like a 5 million pound weight on your chest right now.
Biggest of hugs to you!!!!
Platz, I must reinterate every word that Moon stated. It's so easy to second guess yourself - that's simply part of the grieving process. Those who we care for so passionately, including our animal companions, deserve the best that we can provide. When a pet is seriously ill, our parting act of love is to set him/her free from prolonged pain and suffering. Always remember that it's
the quality of life, not the quanity of life, that we must give our pets. For their years of unconditional love, they deserve this much - no more pain and suffering. Please read my article on euthanasia (it's actually listed on my Cat Health pages, but it applies to any companion animal) on my animal site:
http://www.sniksnak.com/cathealth/howto16.html
You will always have a hole in your heart for Dusty. However, the pain will lessen as the years pass; eventually, you will have peace treasuring your memories of this special, special little dog.
We're always here for you, Sweetie.
TPG and FH, conCATulations on your new grandbaby! How thrilling! The best to you and your entire family!Â
Thanks to all of you who have sent emails, PMs, and e-cards regarding my Craig. I brought him from the hospital for recouping at my mother's home in Shreveport Monday night. His lungs can't handle all the dust and other inhalants from our home renovation, which will resume tomorrow after a 3 week haitus due to his illness. Thank y'all ever so much for your comfort, encouragement and support!Â
Happy Father's Day to all you dads of wee and big humans and/or companion animals! I wish you a fantastic day spent with family and friends!
Ok, Gang, I'm in an airplane cast with my right arm in a perpetual wave position until tomorrow when I can get the damn thAng off, so haven't been able to type well, much less browse on the net for the past 10 days. (You should attempt to scoop and clean 55 litter boxes - when I bend over, I feel as though I'll topple right over and I can't do jack-sh!t with my left hand, anyway.)
At any rate, 'splain what's the deal with the cotton lady for me, please. Last weekend she posted at WP that she was so disappointed in the fiasco that transpired there with Patty, then began delisting like crazy. I notice that she stopped delisting and is now back to posting often again. Am I missing sumptin?

Holy Cow Batman! 55 litter boxes! I can barely remember to scoop out 1 everyday. Hope you feel better soon. Happy Fathers Day to all that qualify!
Thanks, Patti and Brat. I'll be 110% better when I get this freaking thing OFF.Â
What kinda crap is this? Isn't she the same one who blasts everyone for being a naysayer when constructive criticism IS made?
Quote:I feel if we are going to get anywhere we all need to pull together. Constructive critism is very important. When a seller comes on the boards and asks for opinions they should hear from as many sellers as possible. We all see things from a different angle, the more viewpoints one has the better it is to make a decision.

Yikes, the joy of being one-handed. NOT.
No, it's xxx - the one who never puts her store link in her posts.
Platz & Meows - hugs for you both!Â
Happy Father's Day to all the dads!
Quote:I meant a full week post can get kinda long, what's wrong with a M-F post then a weekend post? Just a thought!
Ummm, apparently you missed the memo Popper. There's a new sheriff in town and she doesn't need your help running things!
