I wouldn't consider anything posted over here to do with stalking in any form. Keeping up with current events at a public website and then sharing/discussing them? Nothing at all illegal there. Very informational, yes. Illegal? Nope.
Everything written in a forum on the internet- the author should be well aware that their words can be seen by anyone - they can be discussed by anyone - just as words written here are obviously being discussed by you and whomever.
Ahhh, jeeeez, now we're accused of cyberstalking and all before I've had my first cup of coffee. Wadda bummer way to start off the day.
Soooo, let me get this straight. 740 former poppers are involved in stalking which INDIVIDUAL, pray tell? Do you know what the definition of cyberstalking is, for cripes sake?? You're on the damn net; use it to your advantage and quit your whining, nasty kangarooing, and moaning. To be knowledgable is to be powerful.
From Wikipedia the definition of cyberstalking clearly states that an INDIVIDUAL stalks another INDIVIDUAL and that "credible threats of violence" are made:
Quote:Cyberstalking is the use of the Internet or other electronic means to stalk someone. This term is used interchangeably with online harassment and online abuse. Stalking generally involves harassing or threatening behavior that an individual engages in repeatedly, such as following a person, appearing at a person's home or place of business, making harassing phone calls, leaving written messages or objects, or vandalizing a person's property. Most stalking laws require that the perpetrator make a credible threat of violence against the victim; others include threats against the victim's immediate family; and still others require only that the alleged stalker's course of conduct constitute an implied threat.
As i stated before I am not the one who wrote it however being that your brought it up There is a lot more to the definition of cyber stalking. In addition simply because the law might require depending where each individual member lives might require "a threat of violence" that is not the case for all there are states that acknowledge that the act itself is a threat.
Cyberstalkers target victims using online forums, bulletin boards, chat rooms, spyware, and spam. They may engage in live chat harassment or flaming or they may send electronic viruses and unsolicited e-mails. [1] They may repeatedly instant message their targets. [2] More commonly they will post defamatory or derogatory statements about their stalking target on web pages, message boards and in guest books designed to trigger a reaction or response from their victim, thereby initiating contact. [1]
When prosecuted, many stalkers have unsuccessfully attempted to justify their behavior based on their use of public forums, as opposed to direct contact.

I'm with Meows here - WHO is the target? I think most here can appreciate all the hard work sellers are putting forth... no one is targeting a seller.
Do you mean WP is the target? If so, then by that definition, you'd also have to lump together any seller who ever became irate at eBay and posted something about that site... which there's plenty of posts over on the WP forums pertaining to the dislike and dissatisfaction of eBay... oh my! There's even some posts over there that speak of things sellers have posted on the eBay boards!
I am simply a third party relaying a message. I happen to be friends with two of the other sellers and figured while I was on here looking for my own personal business solutions & recommendations I would swing by... But I can say that the sellers there do not feel that wp is your sole target. You are essentially taking everything they say in there private forums and posting it here with the sole intent of ridiculing, insulting & persecuting them for their own personal beliefs and business practices.
It is one thing when you mention something you heard on a board in passing. It is totally another to copy & paste it word for word & rip it to shreds. You are not copying and pasting things from wps announcements or newlsetters and your not even posting something that was written by a "staff" member. More often than not You are targeting the sellers posts.
Quote:To my knowledge alot of the posts that have gone up over the past few days have been posted with the sole intention of proving PROVOKING A REACTION FROM TT POSTERS

Hah, proof that the wigglewort boards are full of cyberstalkers who are targeting TT posters!Â

I brought up cyberstalking? Are you nuts or just filled with your cult leader's Kool-Aid this morning? Have another pitcher, Honey.
The current breed of poppers wants you to believe that TTers have a hidden agenda: to now cyberstalk the entire cult, to take their business away from WP and that we are paid eBay infiltraters. Some of these scare tactics are worthy of the most vicious political campaigns I've ever seen - and I'm from Louisiana, the state with a looooong colorful, politically corrupt campaign and elected official history - but the cultists don't stop there. They go on to insult other aspects of "stand on our own two feet" eStores, web sites, and former poppers.
Again, the open discussion of other PUBLIC forums is NOT cyberstalking. Where are you getting that they are private? There is no secret password to those forums.
For one~ HONEY I never said any of the above were my beliefs. I think you all as "ex-poppers" must have gone through some **** in your days with wp to feel the way you all do. Some of which I agree with whole heartedly. However I do believe in any human beings right to privacy.
Those boards are private they are meant for the members of wp. if you are an "ex-popper" stay off the boards. Dont sign in every day solely to get/give something to talk about. If those conversations were meant to carry on here they themselves would have brought it here to post.
okay so they are die hards and will stick with it to the end despite their lack of sales or otherwise. but many of them are friends. consider themselves a family. You are not ripping to shreds what is said by Romeo or even whats new on wp as a company. you rip them to shreds for EVERY thing they discuss whether it be how they are promoting their business or the fact that they trust each other enough to discuss their life difficulties up to an including potty training their kids.

As their spokesperson, you do get right up in their sh!t, doncha, HONEY? The potty training incident was months and months ago and you come right up in here and bring that up. Now tell me that this is not your cause and you don't have some agenda of your own.
Buyers, sellers, former poppers, hell - even the competition, IF they thought there was anything to compete against - can access the forums because they are NOT private.
quite honestly i have no agenda. i came in here yesterday after getting an email about what was going on which btw I would not have known about until after I told her I was looking into TT for hosting solutions. While I could not get into the forums over there (because I am not a member) to see... it was very easy to find here.
and being that they either have too much class or not enough brass to come here and say exactly what is thought. When I saw the ? as to whether or not a comment on that board was directed at you I figured I would offer the answer.
And given the ill reception you gave me no other choice but to express my take on it all.
I really could not give a rats ass what wp did to you or is doing to them. It is up to the individual as to where they will do business and how. but ripping them to shreds... and ripping me to shreds solely for bring it to your attention that is quite simply uncalled for.
