I can't frickin' believe it. Well, actually I can, but wish I didn't.
Think about what Ray is asking his
sellers listers to do:
Daily Activities:
1. Write spamming articles and submit them everywhere
2. Spread the
word gospel by contacting all news media
3. Spam friends, family, customers, barber, mailman, undertaker and neighborhood child molester -- don't foget the Mafia "don" and your parole officer
4. Use Social Bookmarking for spamming
5. Join Groups and Forums and spam your brains out. Slip messages in fortune cookies. Get your kids in on the "Waggle Youth" movement.
SO much for the labor-intensive, non-paid, volunteer, goose-stepping work. And, should you find time around 3 a.m., after spending your day spamming, why not list a few thousand items using WP's cumbersome, ineffective Bulk Lister?
And now for the money in Ray's pocket part.
Monthly Activities:
1. Pay your store subscription like a good little soldier. Don't be a day late, or you'll "hit the bricks" (Ray's famous words)Â Â
2. Preferably upgrade your store subscription to Showcase and Featured for more $$ in Ray's fuzzy slipper fund.
3. Subscribe to the dopey Flagship Banner program at $88.50/mo. for even more $$$ in Ray's fuzzy slipper fund.
And what does Ray give sellers in return? NADA!!!!!!!!!!!! Except a closed board, extreme censorship, blame and guilt, no buyers, and a liberal supply of Kool-aid-tainted smoke and mirrors.
Wake up Poopers! Ray would like you to hand over $158.50/mo. (call it tithing) that you don't have and can't make because you're spending so much time spamming on his site's behalf for free!! And that's just for one store! Should you have 2 or 3 stores, you could spend up to $475.50/mo. And for a site that has little inventory, no buyers and piss-poor unique page views.
And, lest y'all forget: WE ON THIS BOARD ARE THE ONES WITHOUT BUSINESS SENSE
(insert sarcasm)
As a sidebar: I think the grandiose AdSense-modified campaign now known as Category Flagship Banners is simply a technique to grab $$$ since the store count isn't rising like Ray hoped it would. Remember when AdSense rolled out? Just about the time the store count started going in the toilet after the big 2006 summer push.
And yes, Sherrand. AndRay/KayRay/Ray are one in the same -- kind of like the "holy trinity".
Edit:
Quote:Category Flagship banners are singular and exclusive and I anticipate a marked increase in traffic (and likely sales) for merchants who use them as part of a solid marketing plan both inside and outside of Wagglepop
Now, doesn't that sound familiar? Remember the lack-luster "fasten your seatbelts" marketing blitz at the "Grand (re)Opening" in March?
