Quote:The "break even" point in sales between the older rate table and the new extra $20/month is a little hard to pinpoint as the percentage fluctuates so widely when brackets are used. However, I converted the fee brackets into percentage ranges and looked it over closely. I estimate the "break even" as in the area of $800-1000/month in sales, depending on the size of individual sales
Quote:On to the prices. They are going to triple the cost for having a store on WP and remove Final Value Fees. I have noticed that the sales on WP would not add up to 20 dollars per month for 90 percent of the sellers on WP and they are the ones who will be affected the most.

The number of posts in the fee increase announcement thread on the WP boards has declined by 4 since I woke up a few hours ago but Ray has yet to get to this new post by a Founding Member:
Quote:...gotta say that I don't think I can make it here under the new fee structure. While I have good months here and there, most of the time, I rarely make enough to even pay the $9.95...

I've been here since Aug 2006, so not one of the fly-by-nighters, but I never seemed to be able to get the traffic I needed for our items. I might indeed have to close up shop as a seller here (and no one would probably notice!). At one point, I had well over 1000 items in the store, so a lot of work has gone into it. But - just can't seem to generate the interest needed to sustain it. Sales seem to go in swings, with a good month here and there, but lots and lots (and lots) of months with no sales at all.
WP's nameservers have been down for almost 2 hours-i.e. the site is unreachable. This follows yesterday afternoon's 4 hour outage. Good job Ray...

Sorry, I could not determine the IP for www.wagglepop.com (error 11004).
WP appears to be down again. Is AndRay, KaRay trying to stem the flow of deserters?Â
Why would WP be down AGAIN?! It must be an "upstream" problem. Speaking of upstream...it sure sounds fishy
to me.
WP back up again.
A seller asks to keep their feedback earned when/if they close shop and open a new account. Another seller chimes in in agreement asking it be grandfathered or transferred to the new buyer account. Survey says....

I think it would be a mistake (and unfair) to rework convention in the name of making leaving the Wagglepop Marketplace an easy transition.
Part of the benefit of dedication to the Marketplace is that the feedback earned is kept as an ongoing part of that dedication.
If a seller chooses to leave the Marketplace by closing their SmartSell account, they also leave behind the Feedback Score associated with the account. Dedicated long term sellers will and should benefit from an ongoing seller feedback score as part of their "permanent" record.
I think that is highly appropriate and reflective of what we see as a common sense dynamic.

Another form of holding feedback as ransom and punishing the disillusioned. This conman could teach eBay some new tricks.
Here we go again...

WP Members,
We seem to have some need for specific clarification of the Board Participation Policy and Clarification of Board Participation Policy.
They are available for viewing at the top of this forum.
In particular, the following are prohibited and seem the source of ongoing violation recently.
1. Posts about closure or about pending closure are prohibited by existing policy.
2. Posts about post removals by WP staff are prohibited by existing policy.
Should points #1 or #2 need discussion, there are independent offsite communities that may be available for such.
But not here. These boards are only for help and support and the exchange of ideas in a productive and positive environment.

And another one. Someone is losing their temper.

WP Members,
When posting to this thread (and all Wagglepop Community threads), please post within the guidelines of the Board Participation Policy and all Board Participation Policy clarfications.
I have asked Chris is Customer Care for strict policy enforcement this weekend and moving forward due to an inordinately high number of posts removed due to being outside of the posted policy. Additional posts in violation will subject offenders to possible site sanctions as per policy.
Thank you for your support and respect for your fellow members and the User Agreement.

Quote:Can anyone tell me why Wagglepop was down again this morning for several hours?
What concerns me is with Wagglepop being down for so several hours for the past 2 days, sellers as well as buyers that perhaps would like to shop or move their business here may receive bad information out on the blogs, etc that Wagglepop is gone by by and such is not the case or if someone tries to google your store in or perhaps an item they are looking for and it comes up as a blank or error then what?
Just a concern that has been expressed by several!

A seller responded to her:
Quote:I believe the reason the site was down yesterday was because of bad weather. Which is understandable. Maybe that was the reason for this morning too?

PS Poppers A. bad weather doesn't effect data centers or the data center's peering partners (upstream providers) either; B. WP's server is located in a data center about 2 miles from me in lower Manhattan and there hasn't been any bad weather the past few days.
WP's nameservers, not the WP server itself, have been the problem the past 2 days. The problem is probably due to a DNS configuration error on the part of the dimwits at RScript or Ezzi. A reverse DNS lookup of the IP address of the ns2.wagglepop.com nameserver is returning gogoviz01.gogoviz.net instead of the 66-199-236-122.reverse.ezzi.net hostname that it used to return.

FYI- gogoviz.net is a UK/US marketplace (based out of Blackpool) that also uses RScript
