Exactly right on Platzki. What the hell kind of business gives new rules via the forums. I too was on feebay for over 2 yrs before I stumbled on the forums.
Only the Boinktards type of quasi business would decree new rules this way, because he is a board whore.
I don't think that the Boinktard actually thinks, other than how to scam, and that's a full time job for a scamming brain, such as himself.
Imagine the delight on the poopers face when they see the new prices.Â
Store count just dropped another one.
Quote:I am still in shock that he uses the forums to give information to the sellers... I sold on eBay for over a year before I ventured into the forums the first time. (It's scary there...   )
I think I was on eBay for at least 8, maybe 9 years before I wondered into the boards. Had any fee increase or any change in policy happned with eBay which was only announced on the boards, I would have NEVER known. I was a total board newbie when I discovered the existence of WP and only because I went on the eBay boards for advice on a totally unrelated issue. I was naive and stupid -- ripe for the WP picking. I've grown up and sobered a lot since then. I may have been naive, but not stupid, and I smellled a rat (no offense River) early on. I was a lone cry in the forest then (aka paid eBay troll, miscrant, infiltrator, naysayer), but I have plenty of company now.
If Ray could do an automatic pay through PayPal he would, but he can't -- for reasons those whose CC numbers on WP1 were compromised could explain.

I think the majority of small RScript/phpProBid auction sites (especially the tiny ones with subforums at PSU) do the same thing. Forums are what enable these sites to exist: advertising, recruitment, announcements are all done through forums.
What's even more shocking is looking at the WHOIS records for most of these sites: they either hide their WHOIS info, have invalid/fake contact info. or when you look at the record you discover the site isn't even registered to a real business: it's just someone who paid $210 for an auction script, registered at PSU, and proclaimed him/herself the next eBay.
Some examples:
Hides their contact info on WHOIS: Wagglepop, BiddersNSellers, PlunderHere
Registered to an individual: Milbid, UBidRight
Invalid/Fake WHOIS: YourHighBid (the company name given doesn't exist in any state's corporate records, no contact name is given, the address is a PO box, a fake 555-555-5555 phone number is given)
What's even more shocking is that these sites hide their contact info but most of them require their users to submit to a verification process.

DB - although you may have felt alone, I was right there with you.Â
I really feel sorry for those who don't read the forums. So many of the poppers were/are first time sellers (I was just stupid from the get go). These are the ones who are going to get seriously burned. When that new bill comes, they won't have time to back up listings before they are among the banned. That is just wrong in so many ways.
If anyone knows the innocent, contact them...tell them to back up and get the hell out of Dodge while they still have time!
I don't know the innocent. But, I just sent one of the WagglePop sellers a message via eBay's ASQ - their WagglePop store name is the same as their eBay store name. A lot of WagglePop stores have only 1 item and I suspect a lot of WagglePop stores were opened with the idea that their eBay presence would be transferred.
I have too much to do to try to find everyone but if a few people will try to find 1 or 2 people for the next few days the seller community can be supportive of one another against these a$$wipe's a.k.a. venue owners.
This is what I sent to New Fire Gaming @ eBay:
=================================
Not actually a question. Sorry.
WagglePop is tripling fees to $29.99. The announcement was not sent out to sellers it is posted on WagglePop forums.
Because of the billing structure dating a lot of WagglePop sellers will be caught by surprise. If you have friends that are Poppers you might be doing them a favor with a heads up.
=================================
Just contacted 2 more people. That's 3 today. That's probably $99.00Â

From PSU WP Thread called: Finally the Motivation
Is this not the Johnsresale that poster with the multiple personality/screen names is always praising?
Johnresale this... Johnresale that... blah blah blah!!
Well what is he going to do now?
His precious Johnresale is leaving WP. lol
I can't believe the increase in fees. I don't care what the motivation is for it. If I want to pay this much per month I will go back to Feepay.
I just sent my email to close my store. I have been putting it off for months now because I am not completely done moving everything to other venues. (I guess due to that fact that my free time is taken up packing and shipping from other venues.)
In my opinion there never has been enough traffic, advertising, or improvements of this site to justify this sort of increase. It is like a site committing suicide. Maybe this is just Ray's way of closing the site and saving face, because I can't see many people sticking around with this high of a monthly fee. My highest FVF for a month there was around $7.00. This is no bargain for me at all, and I only had one month like that.
You can't even use Google check out there. (And when a person wants to get away from Ebay, Pay Pal goes hand in hand with that)
There are too many free venues like Craigslist, Blujay and Ecrater that get much more traffic and sales for me. I guess he just lost my 9.95 per month that I wasn't paying much attention too.
I am sure this great change will bring him many new store owners with much better goods than me, and I will be ten dollars richer every month.
This is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen a site do.
If it's the same person, I think I've gotten in a couple of squabble's with him over how great he thought WP was and now he's complaining?
I really don't understand this... isn't this what we've been saying for the past two years on this thread?
Geez.......Â

This thread is nothing but
Nasty, naysayer comments from people who need to put Wagglepop, its features, and its members down because they can't grow up and get a life of their own. Some people just have nothing better to do than complain about SOMETHING that didn't go right in their life. :twistedevil:
