Quote:Because sellers can choose to be a showcase store, a featured store or both. I don't know why anyone would want to waste their money like that but to each his own!!
If WP's stores hub is anything like eBay's then 90% of the visitors to the page are other sellers and you're not getting that much exposure to buyers by paying for a featured or showcase store. Very few buyers will find you via the stores page--the majority of them will find you via WP search or Google/search engines/Google Product Search.

Right... I never understood that either. It's not like you're being put on the home page or like it gives you special privileges or something. You get just as much traffic as a non-featured or non-showcase store on Wagglepop... NONE!Â

Ditto. Same goes for the totally absurd AdSense program on WP. Sellers are just singing to the choir as Ray's pocket ka-chings.
In fact, has Ray EVER come up with ANY marketing scheme that actually INCREASES traffic to a seller's individual store? All that come to mind are programs that do no more than beef up Ray's wallet. OH, and Berning has reactivated the Showcase. What's that about?
Well, we can put down the popcorn - Ray's not going to list anything on WP he's going to link to stores OFF of WP.
Below is a quote direct from the horse's mouth.... or some other body part
confused popper,
I believe we will integrate standalone appropriately linked webstores to gauge interest in Marketshare initially.
Direct participation through the Wagglepop Marketplace with conventional listings is extremely labor intensive (as many online sellers can attest) and we simply do not have the labor resouces at this time to take that approach.
Should interest be high and participation increase, we can migrate into the actual Marketplace at some point, but initially, the approach we are taking we feel is the right one - in fact, the only practical one.
In related news, tech assures me that the new display sets will be in full view to all members by the end of this upcoming weekend.

Watching him try to list thousands of Marketshare items without a bulklister should be amusing.

I rest my case.

translation: the revised WP Marketshare will be a
$149 DropShipDesign site (or one of the many similar ready-to-go dropship websites that come preloaded with 100,000-400,000 products)

Are you saying that WP will be offering the e-commerce world nothing more than any of us retards (speaking for myself) couldn't do with $149? Is that really what the "revolution" has reduced to?
Occasionally, when I have an attack of insomnia, I see those informercials for web sites like these at 3 a.m.

She's saying that...I'm not. ;D DropShipDesign's $149 is probably out of Ray's price range. He'll definitely use a premade dropship store because it's the only way to sell items without listing (and he has no off-eBay selling experience), but I think he'll go with Shopster ($70 for the 1st store plus $10 each additional store) because it would allow him to setup multiple "appropriately linked" category specific webstores...plus he could also use the same account to sell dropshipped items on his preferred venue eBay since Shopster integrates with eBay.
Ray is adding links to external web sites with a wider selection of overpriced goods in the search results? :o Good grief, even the hard core poppers should see this as a bad thing if they have any common sense.

If they had any common sense, they wouldn't be on WP in the first place.
That poppers priorities are all messed up. They're worried about their items being found in the search but they should be worried about the fact that.... nobody is searching!!!!
