For those who missed the post, it was a link to an auction she was running on WP that actually had a bid -- the ONLY one with a bid, out of 348 current auctions.

A nearly $150. bid, yet another in a nice cluster of triple-digit sales on items that aren't selling or getting attention anywhere BUT on WP.  Bids this high on WP are rare since those prices are set only 3% under BIN.  Almost all WP buyers use BIN.  Anyway, I'd decided to keep my 'jumping for joy' moment to myself.  What this sudden cluster of large sales probably means is that the WP store has made a big leap in search engine rank for one or more major keyword searches.  Could mean that from now on it will be easier for me to make more money online than ever before.

First of all, you have NO auctions on eBay, and apparently haven't for some time, so it would be pretty hard to get bids on anything there. Second, little wonder this set is getting no attention on eBay. It ISN'T LISTED, period.

I'm pretty sure you can add RiverRat and maybe Regic to the list, and probably a heck of a lot more.

I rarely use eBay auctions.  I make more money with fixed price listings.

Second, the set WAS listed on eBay.  It was listed on 8 sites on the same day that it was listed on WP.  Obviously, I closed the eBay listing after it got a bid on WP.

All would have benefitted from a WP store, so technically the answer to your question is YES.  As long as I'm disabled and have a child with major special needs (who will eventually become an adult with major special needs), and I have no help at all, I will remain a relatively low volume seller.  Still, I can make a lot more money with WP than I'd be able to without WP.

In our case the answer is a definitive NO we wouldn't have benefited.  A WP store would have hurt us badly...it would have cost us a frickin' lot of money (i.e. listing on WP would have meant losses in the thousands of dollars) because WP doesn't integrate with any 3rd party order processing tools (in our case Stone Edge and Fillz)...there's no API...plus there's no bulklister  Listing on WP would have meant hiring another person to handle listing and order processing on the site.  There's a reason large sellers have always steered clear of WP (besides the lack of traffic and sales)---the site doesn't have the infrastructure to support larger sellers (unlike a site like Bidtopia which does have the infrastructure...although Bidtopia's business model makes the site a non-option for anyone who isn't a liquidator).

In the case of our media selling business the answer is also NO for the above reasons plus the added reason that WP doesn't have pre-fill info for DVDs, CDs, video games, etc.

Since Regi and I did a lot of backend integration programming work for Maggie and Valleygirl I think I can also speak for them and say it wouldn't have helped them either due to the reasons I mentioned.

And let's not forget Floor Mat Guy, who has consistently had about 1/4 of the total listings on WP, prays to the WP god, yet, to my knowledge, has never sold one single floor mat, and only has feedback for $27 in GROSS sales since joining 15-1/2 MONTHS AGO. Why is he incapable of capitalizing on the best CEO on the planet?

The problem, P.S., is you seem to be the only seller in the known universe who claims to be really making it on WP. The only one who is capable of getting his/her store indexed, who is smart enough to take full advantage of WP's state-of-the-art, progressive features. A few thousand other sellers, many of whom make more money in a day on other venues or through their own stores than you see in a month, and have years of experience in e-commerce, are not only language and program knowledgable, but know how to write both, have always had extremely profitable businesses, etc., were somehow incapable of doing what you, by some divine miracle, were able to acheive all by your lone, little self. It's truly amazing. If such is true, then the site must be less seller-friendly than we've been led to believe, as some of the greatest minds in e-commerce were incapable of having the success on WP you claim to be having. And many of them were not in the 30-60-90 crowd, but "founding members" who were there a very long time.

And why, tell me why, are these same minds (along with a few thousand sellers who've been there done that on WP, and walked away completely disgusted) somewhow unable to appreciate what a great guy Ray is, how fantastic his site is with all those wonderful features and outstanding opportunities, and how everything Ray does is for the unselfish benefit of his valued sellers, as you apparently have?

It's a question I have wrestled with for 2-1/2 years now, and still cannot find the answer. I suppose, as you claim, P.S., it's because I am psycholic, hateful, spiteful, have Alzheimer's, am a big bully and whatall else. The question then is, how a few thousand other sellers and some of the greatest minds in e-commerce have also been asking the same question and have yet to find the answer.

Not by a long shot.  I'm just the only one who has wasted time trying to explain it to you.  Most sellers who are "really making it" on most sites don't ever bother to respond to forum whiners.
