Ok, so what I am reading in the information Karen posted, WP had no intentions to advertise or promote the site until July 2007. So for a full year WP would sit and not generate any traffic flow or name recognition from the efforts of the WP company.
Sales are down this week. Yes, many companies do compare sales on a week to week basis and plan promotions and staff hours around these sales trends. Many large chains use hourly sales rates as guides for finding slow times and working on increasing sales during these times.
A business that plans for success has an upward growth plan with expectations of increased customers on a continual basis their first few years and then a general leveling off.
I don't understand the line, "firmly entrenched in the ebay dynamic of extremely high traffic"
Isn't high traffic a goal of an online auction site? High traffic means sales for stores and revenue for the venue. Is that not a goal of WP?
"If not, we respect that, but it would support in any case our desire to attract the very best of sellers, and not just any sellers. "
Whack! This line just blew me away!!! A seller who expects more than just casual traffic and sales is not wanted here? Oh my goodness, Karen you have offended me and others who desire to sell their products on a site with customer traffic.
Thank you for opening my eyes.
