Quote:as with most others I have heard about here, I too was pulled from WP for less, I was not even spamming! just asking a question!
That's how it is over there. Unless you're praying, discussing your daughter's toilet training habits or waving pompoms, you're toast. Since WP announced the "zero tolerance" policy, it doesn't take more than a roll of the eyeballs to get you banished for life.
I have a question. What exactly happens to your item listings when you close up shop? Are they completely deleted from the system or are they just sent to the closed section?

I was working on this issue last night and here's what I found out so far.
Your listing's that were good till canceled will remain active if you were terminated. If you closed down the store by yourself they won't be active. An easy way to check if you don't have the item #'s is by google. All listings will show up in froogle even if they aren't within the first few pages if you check your store name from WP. Do a search of your store name and view all your listing's. I did this last night for a while and put it this way I could fill several sheets of paper with all the listing #'s of mine that are still active.
The listing's won't show up in a search on WP unless you do an item # search.

Very interesting, Truth. That explains a lot. E.g. how a seller can have a sale after he/she has been terminated as well as a a handy way to fudge the listing numbers as a marketing ploy to prospective and current sellers. KaRay would really have no incentive to revise the data base to delete the GTC listings because they stay up on Google and could bring traffic and/or new recruits to the site even though the item itself is unavailable. Theoretically then, a GTC listing can stay there forever as part of WP's "unconventional" marketing strategy.

Yes it can and if anyone checks they will see. We could call this listing spam!

I'm glad now I took the time-consuming, laboreous effort to manually cancel every single listing (about 300) before I was "terminated." Considering WP has lost over 1/3 of its stores (actually more, since part of the number was made up by current Poppers opening second and third stores), who knows how many more GTC listings are still on the tote board from those closures.
Of course the sellers who were "terminated" before they were able to manually cancel all the listings would still have the GTC listings showing, and I'll bet those who just simply chose to close for other reasons assumed (wrongly) that their GTC listings would be deleted from the data base along with the store closure.
I guess we can add this to the list of unethical business practices.

Here is one more point on this matter and if there is a lawyer among us please advise. Ray has the power of doing seo on all these items that are not there for sale on his site. That is false advertising. Who becomes responsible in this case. I in no way want my name to be connected to WP with my items. How can this be stopped? If you google u1it4less you still get my WP store that say's it is closed but if you search back 30 pages or so there are hundreds of items of mine that show up as active on WP. As long as the items are active Ray can submit them for seo. I truely believe we are going to have to start a class action suit against WP.

OMG!! If you go to the listings, they look like 'normal' listings, if you click on the see other items link it says the user can't be found.
I'd be fuming!!
I don't have any of my old listing numbers. I really wish I did now.
eclectica,
And that was only a few of them I have many more. Thankyou to the person who forwarded the legal info to me. I will proceed.Â
