26 Listings on eBay are in clear violation of eBay policy, by either promoting WP in the listing or putting in DIRECT LINKS. Some are selling Christian T-shirts.
Gotta love those "ETHICS!"Â

There is a report button, you know. Not that it seems to do much good.

So, about 1% are dishonest.
Quote:This new system has cut fraudulent registrations, NPB's, and scammer activity by almost 100% since implementation.

Almost 100% is what? 99%? So, if 1% are dishonest you would need to locate/contact 10,000 registrants (1%of 1%) to catch one "possible" non-verified registrant with the "new system". That's assuming, of course, that there is no margin of error in verifying 10,000 applicants (e.g. applicant mistypes the call-back number or typos the address). Is it possible for THAT PARTICULAR INDIVIDUAL in 10,000 applicants to be among the 15% who YOU CLAIM do not have cable access or the 9% who don't have cell phones (like me), and therefore could not be verified?
And all this has been accomplished IN 2 DAYS? Damn -- I'm impressed!
Personally, I don't think it has a darn thing to do with "screening" buyers to prevent fraud. I think Ray put this in place to "screen" and prevent defectors from returning under another name.Â
Despite what "Karen" says, a substantial percentage of buyers out there DO NOT have cable and chances are good that if they are on dial-up service, even if they do have a cell phone it may be in a "dead zone" when they are at home. When I lived in the country (7 miles from town
), we had dial-up and our cell phone only got a signal if you were standing in certain areas outside in the yard. It would not work inside of the house at all.
Once again, they haven't done a darn thing for the sellers other than limit their pool of potential buyers. :
People who live in rural areas make some of the best online customers because they can't run to town and pickup harder to find items.
I am one of the 3% that don't have cell phones....I HATE THEM!!!!! Course, you would too if a driver chatting on their cell phone hit you with their car!! My right leg hates cell phones even more!!!
This has been a word from a permanently deranged person.....
Batteries for RACE!!! I love it!! I think I can arrange for a blow up man to be sent!! tee hee
Spew Spew No-No's - I love it! the eating trough thing is kinda gross but if that is what the customer wants.....

I was thinking this, too, River.

Count me in that, too. If anyone ever hits me while talking on a cel phone, I will shove it up their a$$ sideways.

I have DSL. Cable is way too expensive. When I lived in Milan, the phone lines were "country" lines and couldn't handle DSL and the town was too small for the cable companies to bother running cable internet out there. A friend of mine still out there says they still can't get DSL or Cable internet, even though many people want it. You CAN get satellite, but people are generally not happy with it out there. I was stuck with dialup even though I could afford DSL or Cable.
A large portion of the Navajo reservation on the New Mexico side (and part of the Arizona side) can't get anything better than dial-up, either.

Funny how that same 1% might be the people stuck on dial-up due to regional issues, or due to monetary issues.
Funny how that 1% might also apply to people who can't get or won't get a cel phone.
I don't have a cell phone either. I asked hubby for one for Christmas. I got a picture of one in my stocking instead!Â
