Quote:For example, if you were to list 100 items and sell 5 items at $10.00 each, that's $50.00 of revenue, less $9.95 participation cost, which equals a profit of $40.05 before other expenses such as Final Value Fees, PayPal fees (if applicable), inventory costs, and other related expenses.
The "sell-thru" in the above example would be 5%, with a profit of $40.05
In my world "profit" is the amount made after deducting all expenses. This example shows gross not net.
Just like the WP sales report only gives the total number of sales, and not the total dollar amount of those sales.
The other expense that Ray fails to mention is the labor time per item. Including photographing, listing, packaging, shipping, etc...
A seller's labor is an expense unless you consider yourself a volunteer.
:blinkie:
The new sales report is up at popland 8634 total sales for the month of January.

My point exactly. It takes 10 times as much effort to post 1000 items as it does 100, but according to WP's convoluted math, you only make twice as much money selling twice as many items. SELL THRU DOES COUNT! See how much money you make listing a million items with zero sell thru!
Edit: I noticed PS's post. I think someone should also post the Alexa stats and Tazbar's REAL advertising campaign.

:blinkie:Â PROVE IT!!!!.....wait does that also include the last week of December when they didn't post the sales report?
8 + 6 = 14
6 + 3 =Â 9
3 + 4 =Â 7
total Sales = 30
Now that number makes more sense!! In Wagglemath anywayÂ
It's funny how that # worked out to be about 2000 sales per week. Just part of the big deception if you ask me. It seems to me someone is spreading the projected #'s before hand on PSU or should I say the #'s Ray wants everyone to believe. I'm sorry Ray but I'm going to have to call you out on those #'s as they are NOT BELEAVEABLE.

I just saw something that made me spew my drink (and it wasn't on this site, either).Â
I went to Pop Land's site. The number of listings available and ready for bid or purchase has changed. And the new number is:
146,077. That is a decrease of 450.
WTF.
With the number of stores that closed (including 2 that had approximately 10,000 between the 2 of them) this number that is posted on the Home Page is FALSE, plain and simple.
