OMG, I nearly GAGGED !!
Quote:Let me be the one to stop any discouraging feelings right in their tracks
Building a business (like Wagglepop, your business, or any business) is hard. It takes time, it takes money, and it takes the dedication of knowing that your path is the right one and that your goals as a business are good and achievable goals.
Just look at what we as a company and community have accomplished in so short a time!
Being a part of a public business is having the courage to make public mistakes and deal with public criticisms. Every company in the world has that to deal with, because it comes with the territory. We understand that, and I for one am proud to say that I work for a company that has that depth of understanding and dedication.
If Tom Cruise, Microsoft, McDonalds and eBay can be criticized, so can little Wagglepop
We will make more mistakes along the way, but mistakes never define who or what people are. It's how they handle them and react to them that count. It's how much fight they have when the going gets tough.
The morning session, every day, starts with our CEO writing on the board:
"What can we do better today?"
That's the kind of auction site that you are a member of, and that's the kind of people I work with and for.
If the question is "What is Wagglepop doing?", then the answer is:
Whatever it takes.
We operate at a loss each month, as expected. We add equipment and staff and features nonetheless because it's the right thing to do. That's the respect we have for membership, and that will never change.
We simply cannot say the press release is on such and such a date, the banners here and there, Ben Affleck is wearing a Wagglepop t-shirt etc. etc. etc.
No successful company announces the details; they just come to the fore as they should, organically and as part of a bigger plan. Just about every decision we make as a company is met with equal parts applause and derision. There is no way to make everyone happy all of the time.
In running Wagglepop we have to make hard decisions, and sometimes the best decisions are not the most popular ones. Transparency in the marketing program is one of those hard decisions.
What we do is not nearly as important as how it changes the marketplace. Track Alexa. Track Google Page Rank. Track listing totals. Track new Stores. Use whatever method you feel will best help you judge our efforts to help build Wagglepop into what we all know it can be.
We ask only that you respect that some decisions are ours alone to make by their very nature, that we cannot share details that our competitors may act upon, and that when it comes to those decisions you have our word as a company to our community that we do our very best to make the right ones.
Personally, I love working for Wagglepop, and we want the people that make up our membership to feel the same way about Wagglepop.
We'll always do the very best we can.
Count on it.

trying, once again, to blow smoke up your ass.
Tom Cruise has yet to recover at the box office after his disastrous interview with Matt Lauer.
Microsoft launched Vista which costs you tons of money in computer upgrades because it's not compatible with anything you already have.
McDonald's has to keep changing the menu to satisfy customers and is repeatedly settling lawsuits for undisclosed amounts.
eBay is crap, but it makes money and people actually SELL things there.
Wagglepop is full of shit and always will be.
here's to ya Raytard

Quote:"Since this is where and how the whole idea started, I think it's only fitting that it end here as well.
Within hours, I will be closing Wagglepop for good, and forever.
The servers will be shut down, and all drives reformatted, destroying any and all personal data.
No one owes a single penny.
This whole idea started simply because of people, and my faith in them, and my desire to make a difference.
Now, it's people that have left me no other choice but to shut it down.
What started out as an interesting challenge has instead become the most painful, personal few months of my life, and my confidence in what I believed about faith and humanity are shaken and shattered..... perhaps forever.
To those who supported me, I cannot express enough how proud I am of the journey we took together, and how much your support and kind words have meant through the longest of days and nights.
I will be forever grateful, and carry it with me always.
To those who most assuredly have not supported me, or Wagglepop...... Who have day after day, minute by minute done everything possible to destroy the site...... I have but a few words:
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
If I live a hundred more years before I encounter such morally bankrupt miscreants again, it will be a day too soon.
Ultimately, the only eyes that need judge us that count are two: our own, and those of God.
In both regards I am clear as to what I have accomplished, and had worked so very hard for, and in that, I find my only necessary redemption.
I'm looking forward now to walking away from this interesting online experience, away from my computers, away from the judging eyes of anonymity.....and feeling the grass on my feet and the sun on my face again.
I'm going back to the 'real world', where people look you in the eye when they speak to you, where "please" and "thank you" are heard, and where simple decent behavior and effort are appreciated, and rewarded.
Farewell, and Good Luck.
Rest in Peace, Wagglepop...... We hardly knew ya.

WP's 3-month Alexa has fallen from 38K to 54K. Listing totals have tumbled. The number of stores has nosedived from 939 to 328.

Hi all, well give me so karma. Â I ended the last of my items at WP last night and closed my store this morning. Â I paid what was owing on my account which was $9.95 sent the email to close my store and I even timed it, within 2 minutes from the time I sent the email, I already got a reply back that my store had been closed. Â They are suppose to be so dam busy yet they can quickly send the emails that your store is closed - I think they get some joy out of it. Â I am free, no more BS to listen to or read, no more lies about all the great things that are going to happen. Â That's all it's been about this big hipe of Grand Opening, lies and deceit. Â There seems to be no end to that garbage. Â Surely these cheerleaders can see the writing on the wall things will never improve, there is no may in hell Ray is spending the quoted $75,000 in advertising and he never will. Â He wants the sellers to do all the advertising for him, he's too busy hitting the delete button to do anything else. Â Come on lurkers wake up and see the light, the lies and deceit are never going to end. Â This guy is heartless and he cares absolutelly nothing about the sellers that have worked their butts off and spent hours on their store and they are getting absolutely nothing in return. Â I am positive there are going to be some more sellers close up their stores, they are just sitting on the edge, and hopefully this last can of bull**it will open the door to the mass exodus that should happen. Â You deserve nothing Ray, you have killed the site yourself, you have no one else to blame but yourself, it has nothing to do with the sellers, you have always been the Problem and you will always be the Problem. Â One day soon your turn will come and you will get exactly what you deserve. Â Hope it's soon. Â Come on poppers, move on to greener pastures, the site will never be what you cheerleaders are hoping it will be. Â It will always be just more hot air and BS, that will never change as long as Ray is in command. Â My WP days are done.....
:partytimes: Â Â Â Join me in my celebration.
hi chiquita: how are you doing, so nice to have you at my celebration. You are right these sellers do deserve so much better, you guys must make the move now before it's too late, leave now before you are left in the dark when the lights go out!!!

I have a (dumb) question... the poppers are all excited because when they search in google, altavista, msn, etc for wagglepop, the first thing that comes up in the search results is the WP site.  Well, isn't that the way the search engines work? I have a web site too, that I don't do anything with right now, other than use for storage space, and if I type in the name of that, it's the first thing that comes up in Google. There's no real trick to that, is there?Â
(And the point, poppers, is that no one out there knows to search for Wagglepop anything, because there is NO advertising out there to get them familiar with the name!)

ETA:Â Oops - nevermind - they are talking about sponsored search results on the right, not regular results.Â
