OMG Bargain! If I ever had 6000+ hits in one day my husband wouldn't be able to find me when he got home, he'd have to dig me out of the rafters!!!
Wanna be my mentor???

Ill BBH is a great choice as a mentor. He and Amy also have a top notch hosting company. Without the TT admins my site would never have gotten as far in development as it has.
:blinkie:
To all the TT admins (Regic, Amy, BBH, Mandy)
A Big THANKS
To River Rat, my bud, who also has given me hope, humor, and good info.
You rock my friend.
So what if we are quitters? Some people KNOW when quitting is the right thing to do.
To quote Kenny Rogers....
You gotta
Know when to hold em
Know when to fold em
Know when to walk away
Know when to run.....
Our old retail website was like that.
How are you guys getting so many hits with Zen Cart shops, without any paid advertising? This new X-Cart site just won't get the traffic our old site got. It's so frustrating.
I've done hours of search engine submission, SEO tweaking, and tons of paid Google Adwords. I'm starting to think I've lost the ability to do it.
Good morning all -
I haven't had time to visit this thread and participate in awhile. The question was asked about sales in Feb so I decided to add my 2 cents.
Sales for me in Feb: 77 items sold. Total sales $ amount: $449.75.
I do not spam boards to get my sales. I just list items and people are finding me by searching Yahoo and Google.
I have seen an increase in hits to my store since the "grand opening". Also I've had a lot of new buyers buying my items. So apparently the phone verification isn't deterring people from signing up. I've noticed a lot of auction sites are doing the phone verification for both sellers and buyers now.
Hope you find this information useful.

Wow !!!
Quote:Hello to everybody,
Does the Revolution started yet?
I hope, Karen will not delete this topic :-)
First of all I'm not here to bash Wagglepop, and I'm not advocating for other venues, rather I'm just looking at the facts... I was very glad and enthusiastic at first when I found the venue, had several restless nights :-) and still, I'm spending time to maintain my listings and reading the newsboard, but,...I'm almost ready to quit (despite that I've heard the Revolution have started)
Haven't had a single sale since my membership begun in last October.
I can call myself proficient online seller - I'm with eBay since 2000 (hope, I'm not prohibited to mention the name?), also have several websites.
IN SHORT -
I sell the SAME ITEMS here and there (well, I'm selling on eBay only, here I have only "listings" :-( )on eBay I have thousands in sales - here I have $0.00 and only paying for comissions (I guest, it amounts close to $100.00 so far...)
My question is - when will the Revolution start and wheather or not small guys like me will have a fruits? Please don't advise me to change colors in my store and put fancy signature/slogan, buyers don't care about your colors, your pet's or husband's name. I personally don't. When I buy something online all I care is the price and credibility. Online venues like this are mainly judged by the buyer's feedback not by the store slogan and wheter you live in suburban Oklahoma or in windy Eastern coast but, where you can get that feedback when there is no traffic (You don't call a traffic five visitors in a week, do you?) Please don't tell me to put links from other sites to my listings, what the point? If that is my web site why would I drive traffic away from it rather than make best offer over there on the site? Would WP allow me to put links from my listings to my webside to drive visitors away from WP? Putting links anywhere else (message boards, forums, etc.) is often considered violation and would, at most , bring a few unmotivated strangers. After all, why should I spend more time (and money) to build traffic here, isn't that the Wagglepop's job? Otherwise, what I'm paying for? For 500 Kb on WP webserver? $9.00 a month? + listing upgrades, etc. Again don't get me wrong, I would be VERY, VERY, VERY glad to expand my business, but so far it looks like I'm subsidising other guy's enterprise.
My question is - when will the Revolution start and wheather or not small guys like me will have a fruits?
xxxxx
P.S.
Please don't advise me to increase number of items in my store - it doesn't matter! It should not matter! Everything in this world is PROPORTIONAL. With only a few listings you still SHOULD have a few sales, moreover, the quality and sellability of the particular items was proved many many times before. I have a constant, steady sales on eBay with the same items, (last week brought me about $300)

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish here... you already seem to have your mind made up about us.
The Revolution started in each of us individually, when we made a long term commitment to the philosophy of Wagglepop making a difference in the world. The very same helpful hints that you denigrate in your post are what makes us who we are... helpful, friendly and UNITED in our quest.

I`m not replying to your post to bash you,but if you are doing so well at greedbay ,why are you here?
You say that you are selling "thousands" at feebay, but what are you paying in fees to make those "thousands"?
Are you doing any self promotion for your store here?Up until this last week,we`ve all had to do our own advertising for our stores, unlike over thEre where all you had to do was list your items and sit back and wait.
Plus, here we don`t have to put up with all the scammers, glitches, fee hikes, limited searches and poor customer service.
In my opinion, your business is what you make of it.
xxxx
P.S.-What is the name of your store?

xxxx,
I'm very sorry to hear how disgruntled you sound about Wagglepop.
I would have suggested all those things (except color changes) that you mentioned, but as you requested, I will not.
I just cannot honestly see the benefit of someone to pay for a store to only have 4 items listed.
Do you advertise your store anywhere? I'm not talking about spamming and things like that. I'm saying email signatures, flyers, emails to friends and family and "business" contacts.
I do think that your xxxxxx are nice and would love to own a couple of them for my garden, but unfortunately cannot spend that amount of $ right now on something I want and not actually "need".
Good luck to you. It does sound like you have already made up your mind to not be happy here.
I am very happy here, nearing xxx feedback, hundreds of $ in sales most months....so I cannot complain...but I've also worked very hard to get here since last July, have a huge store and I buy from others as well. I figure that what goes around comes around. Karma is a powerful thing. If I support others, then others will support me.
xxxxx

Well said, xxx!
I did check this persons store and he/she does have some nice items (only four) and has been a member since October. I hate to see any of our sellers leave, but it does seem like this person's not happy here. Whatever they decide to do I wish them much success!

Seems to be gone this morning. What a pile-on.
JoJo
Good Morning,
I honestly am happy for anyone getting sales no matter where they sell.  Congrats!  I just got a little upset at someone accusing me of being a quitter and complainer.  I just left a few weeks ago so it is still a sore subject.  My traffic came to a halt after the phone verification thing.  It was not that great before that either.  I did have one $450 sale and a few months that I did about $200 in sales but I had to spend more time spamming than I did listing.  My target audience was not seeing my product and selling what I do, things can sell at $40 one day and then $15 the next.  I have to move product quickly or else the value goes down and I loose money.  Most of the time my buyers buy on impulse not need, I think that is why the  phone verification killed what little sales and traffic I was having.

Then, I'll be honest...I don't know why I'm getting so many hits, but I'm grateful! LOL
We get quite a bit of traffic from our eBay sales/listings.Â
We don't accept PayPal, so we direct our buyers to our website to pay via credit card. We have a link in every auction listing to our website 'eBay auction checkout' page.Â
(I had this page pre-approved by T&S before I started using it.)  You'd be surprised how many people click on it just out of curiosity. :twistedevil:
The rest of it is from keyword searches through search engines and links from various discussion boards (referrals from previous customers).
I have no clue why the new site has gotten so many hits. The only public link to it is in the copyright notice on my auction templates and website. I do my own templates, so I originally set the site up so I could add a 'third party credit' link to my auction templates. If anyone clicks on the 'credit link', it goes to my 'graphics' website which is under contruction but has links leading to my live websites.Â
Brat,
You don't have to explain yourself to any of us. I left in October, and even though it's been a while, I would also object to being called a "quitter." Anyone who knows me at all will attest to my dogged tenacity. I just could not take one more nanosecond of abuse, insults, and blame from Koolaid-drugged cheerleaders and a site owner who is a hypocrite.
I had sales, as did most X-Poppers here, but it became clear early on that WP was going nowhere and everything about it was merely the ghostly manifestation of a mad man's self-glorifying mission to pursuade Poppers to create for him what he cannot do for himself. I was being used and was paying for the privilege. And once I figured this out, I was tossed out like a spoiled tomato and then presented with a final invoice which I did not owe. WP is not about being an on-line auction venue. It's about convincing "followers" to build a business, not for themselves, but for Ray. It's all about Ray and HIS emperial power. If Poppers have sales -- good for them, but few realize their sales are spite of, and NOT because of their boinktard leader and his poor excuse for an auction site.
It took two weeks of C&P, including 2 all-nighters, to get all my items out of WP and someplace else, but the sense of relief when it was all said and done was exhilerating. My final post was pulled in exactly two minutes and the entire thread, including responses to the post (yes, even in that short amount of time, I had responses) was yanked, along with all posts on other threads that even referred to my final post. Seven seconds later, my account was terminated without warning. Ray runs his site like a totalitarian state, complete with marshall law, spies who spam boards and tattle to their leader and snipers strategically perched behind sock puppets to shoot down dissention.
To all new TT members. Speak your mind and spew your feelings. We are open, honest and willing to nurse you back to reality and restore your self-respect.
