Alskling you are sooo right!
Check out this post...
Quote:Well, this was a surprise. I did a search on Ebay and came up with a sponsored ad:
Wagglepop for Sellers
Set-up a Complete Online Store for $9.95/Month -- Unlimited Listings.
www.wagglepop.com
Kinda Neat!
Do the poppers not get it? Â
This is NOT an ad to get BUYERS!! Â It's directed to get more sellers! Â
For goodness sake people. Â Get a clue! Â :
user391 how dare you call me a complainer or a quitter. I am neither of those things. I am a realist who is smart enough to jump off of a sinking ship while I still have time. Kudos to you for making sales at WP. At least two out of 329 stores are seeing some action....or so you say....
I have site meter on my WP site. My traffic since I have opened.... A total of 1,061.
Average Visits Per Day 3. And one of those visitors was probably me! Â Yesterday was my busiest day, a total of 8 visits, 6 from the same person. Someone was very interested in what I was doing! My traffic at my other site. Month of Feb. 28,152. And that is a slow month. I have not been putting in a lot of time there because I have been busy doing other things. Even without time spent there I still continue to consistently make sales and make a profit.
I don't need to hear that I need a better product, better listings, better blah, blah, blah.........I have been selling on line successfully for almost eight years.
A Complainer? NO! A Quitter? NEVER! Just a realist who chooses to put my time and money into something that will pay off in the end.
I was taught not to lie and not to mislead people and I live by those rules. I refuse to let someone do that to me and then actually pay them to do it! I would be a fool to continue and let me tell you my parents did not raise a fool!
Good Luck to you and to those who continue on with WP. I by no means wish anyone any bad will. I am just choosing not to be one of you.
Have a great day!
Congrats to you on your sales, Unique!
I don't want to copy and paste the "negative" WP thread so generously brought to us by iwant, so here are my comments only:
Once again, it is the seller fault - broke that "trust", not enough listings, not enoughÂ
, not enough
feedback purchases from other sellers....yada yada yada
Time to get a new record Raytard, this broken one is pretty old.Â
Hi Folks, I'm back! And allow me to present today'sÂ
post from WP2:

Hello Members,
It appears that many of our members have seen some increased activity since the start of the Grand Opening promotional period.
While we have not had a sharp increase in overall traffic during the first three days of the campaign, we have had a definite increase in the amount of unique traffic, and a good sales conversion rate to new members.
As we expand the scope of the campaign, the dynamic will begin to form that will translate into growth for the marketplace and wider distribution of sales to our participating sellers
Karen - WP Customer Care
Not a 'sharp' increase. What an understatement.

Wow !!!
Quote:Hello to everybody,
Does the Revolution started yet?
I hope, Karen will not delete this topic :-)
First of all I'm not here to bash Wagglepop, and I'm not advocating for other venues, rather I'm just looking at the facts... I was very glad and enthusiastic at first when I found the venue, had several restless nights :-) and still, I'm spending time to maintain my listings and reading the newsboard, but,...I'm almost ready to quit (despite that I've heard the Revolution have started)
Haven't had a single sale since my membership begun in last October.
I can call myself proficient online seller - I'm with eBay since 2000 (hope, I'm not prohibited to mention the name?), also have several websites.
IN SHORT -
I sell the SAME ITEMS here and there (well, I'm selling on eBay only, here I have only "listings" :-( )on eBay I have thousands in sales - here I have $0.00 and only paying for comissions (I guest, it amounts close to $100.00 so far...)
My question is - when will the Revolution start and wheather or not small guys like me will have a fruits? Please don't advise me to change colors in my store and put fancy signature/slogan, buyers don't care about your colors, your pet's or husband's name. I personally don't. When I buy something online all I care is the price and credibility. Online venues like this are mainly judged by the buyer's feedback not by the store slogan and wheter you live in suburban Oklahoma or in windy Eastern coast but, where you can get that feedback when there is no traffic (You don't call a traffic five visitors in a week, do you?) Please don't tell me to put links from other sites to my listings, what the point? If that is my web site why would I drive traffic away from it rather than make best offer over there on the site? Would WP allow me to put links from my listings to my webside to drive visitors away from WP? Putting links anywhere else (message boards, forums, etc.) is often considered violation and would, at most , bring a few unmotivated strangers. After all, why should I spend more time (and money) to build traffic here, isn't that the Wagglepop's job? Otherwise, what I'm paying for? For 500 Kb on WP webserver? $9.00 a month? + listing upgrades, etc. Again don't get me wrong, I would be VERY, VERY, VERY glad to expand my business, but so far it looks like I'm subsidising other guy's enterprise.
My question is - when will the Revolution start and wheather or not small guys like me will have a fruits?
xxxxx
P.S.
Please don't advise me to increase number of items in my store - it doesn't matter! It should not matter! Everything in this world is PROPORTIONAL. With only a few listings you still SHOULD have a few sales, moreover, the quality and sellability of the particular items was proved many many times before. I have a constant, steady sales on eBay with the same items, (last week brought me about $300)

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish here... you already seem to have your mind made up about us.
The Revolution started in each of us individually, when we made a long term commitment to the philosophy of Wagglepop making a difference in the world. The very same helpful hints that you denigrate in your post are what makes us who we are... helpful, friendly and UNITED in our quest.

I`m not replying to your post to bash you,but if you are doing so well at greedbay ,why are you here?
You say that you are selling "thousands" at feebay, but what are you paying in fees to make those "thousands"?
Are you doing any self promotion for your store here?Up until this last week,we`ve all had to do our own advertising for our stores, unlike over thEre where all you had to do was list your items and sit back and wait.
Plus, here we don`t have to put up with all the scammers, glitches, fee hikes, limited searches and poor customer service.
In my opinion, your business is what you make of it.
xxxx
P.S.-What is the name of your store?
 Sun 03/4/07 5:36 am  Â
xxxx,
I'm very sorry to hear how disgruntled you sound about Wagglepop.
I would have suggested all those things (except color changes) that you mentioned, but as you requested, I will not.
I just cannot honestly see the benefit of someone to pay for a store to only have 4 items listed.
Do you advertise your store anywhere? I'm not talking about spamming and things like that. I'm saying email signatures, flyers, emails to friends and family and "business" contacts.
I do think that your xxxxxx are nice and would love to own a couple of them for my garden, but unfortunately cannot spend that amount of $ right now on something I want and not actually "need".
Good luck to you. It does sound like you have already made up your mind to not be happy here.
I am very happy here, nearing xxx feedback, hundreds of $ in sales most months....so I cannot complain...but I've also worked very hard to get here since last July, have a huge store and I buy from others as well. I figure that what goes around comes around. Karma is a powerful thing. If I support others, then others will support me.
xxxxx

Well said, xxx!
I did check this persons store and he/she does have some nice items (only four) and has been a member since October. I hate to see any of our sellers leave, but it does seem like this person's not happy here. Whatever they decide to do I wish them much success!

Karen, is it prohibited to ask for help? Why my topic was deleted?
Several poppers respondet to me, but right now I lost all the leads.

I will throw my numbers into the ring.
February WP sales = 20 items for a total dollar amount of $391.95
The WP sellers who sell many items every month do not give a hoot about this thread. Most of the numbers that you have so far are from the complainers and quitters rather than the sellers who are selling a lot and building for the future. FYI

complainers and quitters That's just too hilarious to honour with a intellectual response.

Good morning all -
I haven't had time to visit this thread and participate in awhile. The question was asked about sales in Feb so I decided to add my 2 cents.
Sales for me in Feb: 77 items sold. Total sales $ amount: $449.75.
I do not spam boards to get my sales. I just list items and people are finding me by searching Yahoo and Google.
I have seen an increase in hits to my store since the "grand opening". Also I've had a lot of new buyers buying my items. So apparently the phone verification isn't deterring people from signing up. I've noticed a lot of auction sites are doing the phone verification for both sellers and buyers now.
Hope you find this information useful.

When the store count was in the 900s a person would have been accused of being delusional if they had theorized at the time that the count would drop to the 300s in a matter of months. But it happened. So if I predict the store count will drop to the 100s in as many months would I have any believers? With the exception of yourselves, I think so.
US and User, if you are experiencing sales, all the power to you. Grab them while you can - they won't last. If you wish to exist in isolation, thinking solely of the health of your business, who are we to argue. However doesn't the entire health of the venue you are tied to cause you just a bit of concern?
Would you two perhaps be neighbours in Stepford?

Jo Jo,
Yep, it's gone and so is the one you just quoted. Ray's finger must be getting sore don't you think?

Looks like the store disappeared, too. Sweep it all under the rug, no one will notice...

I love this guy's tenacity. I found this one on the Sunday Share Your Wares thread. KaRay must have missed it. Jo Jo I suspect his account was terminated by WP and he has probably received his "we don't feel you are a good fit to our trust-based community" email in explanation.
