Can anyone - Former Popper or Current Popper - post a list of things that have actually been implemented?
Such as things that have been requested by the Sellers?
Things that have been promised by Karen over the past few months?
Seriously. I really want to know. ???
There was a dynamic (!) advertising campaign with itty bitty little click ads.
There was a re-design of the home page and removal of listing count at the very same time.
There was a button added to spam your friends and family on the stores page.
There was a plethora of bullshit (organic) marketing.
Pure Ray.Â

Oh and don't forget the best one!
Dynamic(!) clickable signatures automatically added to the end of their posts in the forums.
(To make it easier to buy from each other!) Â
And another one the basically happened so fast a lot of sellers (and lurkers) might have missed it.
KaRay decide to revamp the My WP page and announced it with pride on a thread. The initial posts politely stated it was quite confusing. And it was. It looked like a cheap table, multiple colours used with a link in each box. The nav bar that duplicated many of the options was still included on the sidebar and was much easier on the eyes. CC1 said the criticism would be taken under consideration at the next morning's meeting of staff.
Subsequent posts pored in supporting the initial ones that the new design was not an improvement. CC1 came back later that same day to say the an emergency discussion with staff ended with the decision to pull the new design and revert to the old one. It was done within minutes and hasn't been tinkered with since.
Moral of the story. There can be strength in numbers. But the poppers do not realize or are to afraid to exercise the strength they could exert with their own community effort. Ever hear of work to rule?Â
Edited to add: Poppers; get your act together.

Moon! I remember your store ~ glad you finally joined us on the other side!

I'll admit - I sat in wait and hoping. Pulled out a few months back and just sat watching out of morbid curiosity - kinda like when you see a bad car accident - you don't want to look, but you just have to?

LOL... I've used that analogy about this myself.
When I left, I actually intended to return at some point. I had been reading this forum for awhile, but like you, was still hoping for the best. I'm glad now I've kept up with - and been active on - this thread. Not only are the posters spot on as far as their assessments of WP, they're also just a great group of people.
I'm a proudÂ
Unfortunately, learning from the past, most poppers can not and will not express displeasure.
Remember the time when the 900+ store owners offered opinions and had actual business discussions? Â Ancient history, I know, but the majority spoke - and the door was unceremoniously slammed in their faces.
I don't know why things are slipping by KaRay these days. Â Maybe he's waiting for his computer tech to come and replace his delete button...it has to be worn out this late in the game.

I know this isn't the point you were making, but it struck me -- an emergency meeting about a MY WP page??
Ummmm... ok, I know its important for the sellers to have a navigable page, but an emergency meeting? When their Alexa rankings and store count appear to be in free fall status and their genius marketing blitz is such an obvious miserable failure?
More fuel to Alskling's fire - this place isn't a business.

I have some interesting statistics to report, based on some questions from members about Google/Froogle indexing.
Regarding unpaid optimization for Google/Froogle when comparing Wagglepop to eBay, consider these statistics as of today:
Percentage of Listings Indexed by Froogle
Wagglepop = 85.92%
eBay = 0.13%
Yes, that's 0.13% (about 1/8th of one percent) for the "other" guys, while almost all of our qualifying listings are not only indexed, but updated daily.
Many of the other larger auction sites we've researched actually have no indexing at all. Not a single listing.
By the very nature of the construction of our feed, by listing your items on Wagglepop you're getting almost maximum Froogle exposure at this time (along with excellent relevance rankings), and to a much higher degree than just about any alternative venue.

Quote:A Store is part of the entire SmartSell Pro Package, and as such, is part of your actual user account.
To close the Store, we have to close the account, otherwise all existing listings will relist at full insertion and upgrade costs, and that's a pretty untenable situation for sellers.
On eBay, a Store is simply an option.
On Wagglepop, a Store is just a part of a complete selling solution and selling account.
That's one of the reasons we can administratively provide free listings, Gallery pictures, and Buy It Now options
Close the Store, and you're actually closing the entire SmartSell account.
Different sites, different philosophies.

Just before I retire for the night.
This store was on my ghost store list. It came alive 3 weeks ago and reached a listing count of 31. I started doubting my estimate of it's status. At the moment it is down to one item and about to disappear again.
Watch this one out of curiosity if nothing else.
