Quote:2. What's new in this version?

They say first impressions count, and we believe you will be impressed when you test Comersus v7 and see the new base template. The new template includes a convenient upper bar where you can add your company name and slogan, with no need to edit graphic files. It also includes the most popular features, ordered by importance and convenience. There is also a right side bar that remains onscreen through the whole purchasing experience, with categories, cart contents, and recent store news.

Very soon other version 7 templates will be available, with support for the new features and themes for a range of applications.

Another feature that stands out is the new checkout. As explained in the book Succeeding in e-commerce, it is vital to make the most of buyers' purchase impulse, by keeping steps down to a minimum and letting the checkout process flow uninterrupted. Comersus v7 has a checkout process that is simple, but rich in features at the same time.

Version 7 also features an RMA system, where customers can request a return number for the contents of an order, and the administrator reviews pending requests and authorizes or rejects the return of goods. When a request is authorized, the customer can print a return label from the storefront menu, with no need to go through further steps.

Another area that has been modified is offline shipping configuration. Now you can create shipping zones (groups of zip codes, states and countries) and configure shipping services for each zone.

Version 7 includes a customer tracking subsystem by which the administrator can trace each customer's steps in the store. This information can be extremely useful to understand customers' needs and preferences.

RSS feeds have become extremely popular recently, and Comersus Cart version 7 joins the phenomenon with a subsystem for autogenerated news and an RSS server embedded in the store. Each time a new product is loaded, or a customer posts a product review, news are automatically created and inserted in the store.

Other useful features are MAP (Minimum advertised price) and BackOrder concatenated with the stock system, among others. It would be too complicated to list all of them here, so we encourage all users to check out v7 for themselves.

Make sure you take all necessary precautions when migrating: make sure you understand the procedure, review your customizations (if any) and sign up for Version Upgrade Program to upgrade your Power Pack.

Thanks for your continuing support and for trusting us through the years.
