A new study projects 2006 online sales growth of 20%, with pet supplies and cosmetics/fragrances being the fastest growing categories. Travel is expected to be the largest category with sales of $72 billion, followed by computer hardware/software, autos/auto parts, and apparel.

Computer hardware and software, at $16.8 billion, is the largest non-travel category projected this year. Autos and auto parts is next, with $15.9 billion. Apparel and accessories follows with $13.8 billion.
