Quote:Dear Amazon.com Sellers,

In the next two weeks, we will be changing the appearance of the "All" and "New" tabs on the Offer Listing Page for media products (Books, Music, Video, & DVD). When this change is made, we will no longer be showing offers sorted by condition type and price. Instead, we will sort all the offers available for the item only by price.

To keep sellers with multiple items from dominating the page, we will show each unique seller's lowest priced item in each condition type (Used, New and Collectible) in order of price. If a seller has more than one item in a condition type, the additional listing(s) will be displayed subsequent to the first set of listings.

We welcome your feedback about this change, and encourage you to submit feedback to us via e-mail at offer-page-feedback@amazon.com.

Thank you for selling with Amazon.com.

Why are you doing this?
This change addresses some inconsistencies in the current customer experience, where buyers can be presented with a collection of offers that may not make sense (e.g., low price offers followed immediately by high price offers, and pages where only one seller's offers are featured). The new display will resolve some of these inconsistencies by featuring all seller offerings more fairly and more equally displaying offerings from multiple sellers.

Does this address “page hogging”?
Yes. Buyers and sellers will benefit from the new page, because it will feature all sellers' offers more fairly. No single seller can dominate the page due to large numbers of like items offered for a low price.

Additional changes in how we handle sellers with multiple offers for the same item will continue to be considered in the future.

How will this impact pricing and my business?
This new lay out of the offer listing page will feature more unique sellers’ offers to buyers. In this new page layout slight differences in price will be more accurately displayed to buyers. For example, in the past if you were the 6th lowest price in a category (5 sellers were lower than you) your item would not show on the All tab page. In the new page the 25 lowest price offers from unique sellers will be displayed.

and an update:

Quote:Dear Amazon.com Sellers,

As you know, we recently announced some changes to the sort order of the "All" and "New" tab of the Offer Listing Page. You can view our previous announcement here:

We have received some questions and feedback about the changes we will be making to the Offer Listing Page sort order, and wanted to provide some further clarification about these changes. Some of the most frequently asked questions, and answers to those questions, are below. If you have further feedback about these changes, please feel free to send an e-mail message to offer-page-feedback@amazon.com.

Thank you for selling with Amazon.com.

Q: What will these changes look like? Can you provide an example in a screenshot?
A: Yes. A screenshot of how these changes will look is attached to this post.

Q: Does this change eliminate the Used, New, or Collectible condition tabs from the Offer Listing Page?
A: No. As you can see above, the condition tabs will still exist on the Offer Listing Page.

Q: Can you provide a more detailed explanation about the changes you’re making to the “All” tab?
A: The current sort order of the "All" tab separates New, Used, and Collectible conditions, and lists 5 listings for each condition type. The “All” tab displays 15 listings--5 listings for each condition type.

With the new sort order, the New, Used, and Collectible conditions will be mixed together on the “All” tab, and all of the listings displayed on this tab will be sorted by price. Additionally, 25 listings will be displayed on the new Offer Listing Page; if there are more than 25 listings, the All tab will include links at the bottom of the page that lead to additional listings.

Q: Will this change impact the display of the ‘Used’ or Collectible tabs on the Offer Listing Page?
A: No. This change only impacts the sort order of the "All" and "New" tabs. The "Collectible" and "Used" tabs will remain unchanged at this time.

Q: Won't this negatively impact the display of items listed in "Collectible" condition?
A: The display of the "Collectible" tab will not be impacted by this change. As mentioned in our previous announcement, we are investigating other Offer Listing Page display options, and will announce any additional changes here on the Seller Success board.

Q: When are you launching these changes?
A: The changes will launch in the next 2 weeks. We will be testing the page display when we initially launch. While all listings will be displayed during this testing phase, customers may see different treatments of the Offer Listing Page at different times. We will be closely tracking the performance of this treatment during this testing phase.

Q: How does this change address page-hogging?
A: As mentioned in our earlier announcement, this new display of the "All" and "New" tabs will display seller offerings more fairly; no single seller will be able to dominate the page due to large numbers of like items offered for a low price.

For example, with the current display, a seller could list 5 items in "Used" condition with the same low price, and that seller's listings would take all 5 "Low Price" spots in the "Used” section of the "All" tab. In order to reach other seller offerings in "Used" condition, a buyer would need to click the "Used" tab.

With the new display, the seller's listings would be mixed with other seller offerings in the "All" tab, and the listings would be sorted by price. This allows the buyer to explore listings from other sellers as well as listings in other conditions, which may not have been considered using the current Offer Listing Page.
