Quote:New and Improved eBay Stores Buyer Pages
We recently spoke with buyers and sellers about how to better communicate the benefits of shopping with eBay Stores sellers and are happy to announce that weâve launched new eBay Stores buyer pages at www.ebay.com/shopstores. From here youâll find a link to the new "How to Shop eBay Stores" page located at http://pages.ebay.com/storefronts/howtoshop.html.
The navigation path to the "buyer pages"

Definitely where a buyer is likely to beÂ
--------------------
eBay's idea of additional exposure:

ps I've never received a catalog and I rarely enter eBay via the home page
Question: Why does the link to "How to Shop eBay Stores" appear in *Seller Central* ?
Answer: It's called a "pacifier".

Exactly.
The promotions they announced will do practically nothing to raise buyer (or seller--see below*) awareness of eBay Stores. The only real way to raise awareness is to promote stores where the buyers are looking--the search results.
--------------------------------
*Examples of lack of seller awareness of stores:
1. an eBay seller who has been selling since 1999 who didn't know stores existed until last summer
2. during Waggle I an eBay seller asked in all seriousness on the eBay forum at FAS "What's a store?"
3. on the eBay Stores board today a storeowner asked "What's the Stores Hub" (umm, its the page that eBay uses to sucker people into upgrading to a featured store. Nobody but sellers visits it, and they only visit it to check their store's rank)
If many sellers don't even know about stores....

Yet some sellers were so excited at first. Then someone burst their bubble.
Call me paranoid but the first thing I looked for was "what is wrong with this picture?" and Bingo!
You betcha...every buyer goes straight to the Home page, then to Seller Central so this should work well. NOT.
