The making money part of the scam involved eBay. According to authorities, the ring would steal an identity, set up a bank account and credit under that name and then buy items they sold on eBay to make money. Meanwhile, the victim of the identity theft would get the bill for the purchase of the item.
If you bought something on eBay from "gr8dealcenter" or "simonselz" chances are you got a huge bargain...
