If someone is serious about leaving eBay I think that eCrater is too limiting. I set one up during the first eBay fee increase and never got a sale (I never put any work into either to be fair, but then you can't really work it because of the set layout etc.). If you are just using it for repeat customers then it might be o.k. The pictures are tiny. Kim

Ecrater does have limitations no doubt. What ecrater did for me is give me a small taste of what having a website would be like. I remember setting up the admin panel and google's cart. It took several tries, but boy I learned. It has been a way for me to get my feet wet so to speak.

As far as just leaving ebay for ecrater that isn't a good idea. My own website is still the goal.
I have an eCrater store because it's fast and free. True--it may not be the best format for a main store, but it certainly can't hurt to have an eCrater store out there.

When I get sick of working with xCart, I go over to eCrater and add a dozen new products. Eventually it will mirror my main site. I figure it can't hurt.

It is really a very good and easy learning tool. I have made sales, and always have a fairly consistent number of views. I like the fact that they reset the view counter each month also.

At first I thought not having html was a negative. Now it is not only easier because of that, it also appears to make a huge difference in the loading speed of your store. My ecrater store beat out my webpage, and ebay store hands down.

It also takes some of the pressure off of having to find the right template, font, color, etc...
eCRATER is great. I have had 2 sales and I've been there about 3 weeks. It doesn't offer HTML (which I believe is due to speed and space and the fact that eCRATER is FREEEE), it is very easy to manipulate.

Some things that need to be knowed about eCRATER.  Here are the links:

Just an update here.  Those first really fast *sales* I supposedly made were actually from phishers/scammers.  I understand it is very common for new ecrater sellers to receive these rapid fake sales.  These idjits are everywhere on the web, looking for gullible sellers.

Just a heads up alert....   Tongue
